Under the Line Management of the Country Medical Director, I am responsible for the medical commodities supply chain management and leading the pharmaceutical team (20-30 employees), commensurate with the knowledge and experience, following International Medical Corps policies and procedures. My summarized main tasks were as below:
• Review project proposal materials and develop a detailed implementation and monitoring plan for required commodities.
• Provide medical/health teams inputs regarding existing MOH/DOH policies related to medical commodities, including pharmaceuticals, medical consumables, and Equipment.
• Work with the team to prepare procurement plans based on current inventory, needs assessments, and updated consumption data for the timely delivery of required commodities.
• In close coordination with the country logistics department, ensure proper procurement, logistics, and information management systems and control mechanisms are in place and adhered to in line with the International Medical Corps' global and in-country finance and logistics policies.
• Review and ensure timely submission of stock and other Logistics reports from the operational sites as required.
• Train the pharmacy officers to use new tools developed by G.P.S.U. (Global Pharmaceutical service unit-IMC- DC-Washington) to plan, forecast, and monitor drug utilization.
• Responsible for technical supervision of the pharmacist officers across the IMC-Iraq mission.
• Provide technical supervision/ guidance for the Medical commodities officer/assistance across the Iraq mission.
• Support the Country Asset Officer to prepare/get G.I.K. documents approval for any pharmaceutical donation across the IMC-Iraq mission.
• Participate in the committee to assess medical vendors for qualification across the IMC-Iraq mission.
• Supervise the movement of medical stock inside Iraq, including local and international shipments.
• Schedule regular site visits for monitoring and supervision to ensure the quality of commodities and accurate tracking information
• Assist Logistics Coordinator and Medical Director in preparation of Standard lists for Blanket Purchase Agreements (B.P.A.s) and prequalification of vendors.
• Provide direct support and supervision to the field site's medical commodities officers and pharmacy officers to ensure proper H.R. procedures are adhered to in recruiting field pharmacists and pharmacy assistants in coordination with the health coordinator and program manager.

• Ensure that all pharmacy staff undergoes H.R. mandatory training courses and technical and program orientation.
• Build capacity of national counterparts
• Work closely with medical coordinators or their delegates to assist the medical director in identifying appropriate medical commodities according to quantity and quality.
• Represent International Medical Corps with local government authorities (primarily the DoH/MoH), non-state actors, U.N. agencies, N.G.O.s, and donors at the field site level.
• Meet with the teams regularly to update the project-monitoring plan and discuss challenges/solutions
• Ensure pharmacy staff in the field site know and understand the international medical corps' local security regulations; document and address policy and disciplinary issues breaches in coordination with the Program Coordinator and Security Manager.
