Summary
The Field Engineer is the primary point-person to ensure a clear line of communication between the project team, subcontractors, and the client. To achieve these important goals, the Field Engineer will evaluate the subcontractor productivity and participate in progression meetings during project execution. Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, and clear communication, and upward reporting to Project Manager are critical tasks that must be performed throughout the Project.
Job Duties
•Perform planning and supervision of civil engineering activities of project;
•Maintain communication links with project team, subcontractors and client;
•Revise and follow project schedule;
•Perform follow-ups on revisions in plans and specifications;
•Coordinate quality assurance with client;
•Evaluate and follow up on subcontractor productivity;
•Participate in change review and budget follow up;
•Participate and negotiate contract changes;
•Prepare and revise claims;
•Administer and write various reports required by client;
•Perform worksite visits;

•Integration of Communication System design into Stations, Stops, Traction Power Sub-stations, Maintenance & Storage facilities and Control Centres in accordance with Project requirements.
•Working with the System Design teams, other Domain teams and the Requirements Management team within the Automation Systems Directorate on specification and delivery of various Communication Systems into the overall transit, urban rail and heavy freight project solutions.
•Assistance with the interfacing with design groups (communications, fixed facilities, etc.) and with external team members (architects, code consultants, AHJs, major suppliers, etc.).
•Assistance with the delivery of Design\Construction and Interface Control documentation
•Support of construction and installation activities in the field
•Support for Test & Commissioning and setting to work of mass transit, urban rail and heavy freight signalling and control systems
