Specific Duties and Responsibilities/Scope of Work :
Civil Engineer at Bus Rapid Transport Project in Riyadh. The project is; Construction of Bus Lanes in 4 main roads in Riyadh province and modification of roads lanes and sidewalks including infrastructures items (Telecom, Electrical, Landscape and Traffic Management).We are the Contractor and consultant is Dar Al-Handasah and the is Client - Al Riyadh Development Authority. During the project timeline I was assigned in different positions as follows:
• Coordination Engineer (11/2013 - 2/2014): I finished coordinating with governmental institutions and administrations to finalize the main coordination frame that will be followed during project timeline and getting permits to kick off the project.
• Project Civil Engineer (3/2013 - 8/2013): I was Responsible for executing and monitoring site activities through different work stages such as; demolition, construction of road and embedded services. Also I was supervising my site team i.e. (engineers, supervisors, surveyors, sub-contractors) and explaining day-to-day goals. I was coordinating with the project team (construction manager, technical and safety teams), handing over accomplished works through (R.F.I) to consultant, and preparing daily reports.
• Landscape Civil Engineer (9/2014 - till now): Since more than 60% of the project budget was contained in sidewalks works, I was asked to be responsible for preparing Hardscape and light RCC Structures shop drawings. I coordinate with related disciplines to hardscape works i.e. (Irrigation, Electrical and Telecommunication). I may modify shop drawings while construction when site conditions control or as per the client request, plus attending technical discussion, replying to technical queries and attending technical meetings whenever I am called for and managing draught men team.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities/Scope of Work :
Civil Engineer Inspector at the project of Rehabilitation of 18 schools. We were the Client and Consultant to supervise the contractor and make sure all activities comply with NGO international standards. My role as an inspector and client agent was to calculate, supervise and check accomplished works in schools in Irbid City. Rehabilitation included construction of extra class rooms and facilities whenever is needed or assessed by me. I was responsible also for checking the type of maintenance needed whether to repair or reconstruct. I was responsible for approving quantities accomplished in every month and issuing daily report to our project manager.
Project #1:
Project: Al Rashidiya Metro Parking Arrangement-Dubai (Sub Value: AED 360M)
Client: Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA)
Consultant : Parsons.Ltd
Site Civil Engineer; we were the contractor. The project was Construction of 18 bridges which cross Emirates and Khawaneej roads with a total length of 4Km to reach Rashidiyah metro station parking. Bridges are box girder. Period (10/2008-11/2009).
My duties were as follows:
• Manager of Precast yard for 3 months; forming and casting elementary items; protection slabs, safety barriers, scaffolding footings, temporary ( I beam) gantry foundations and was responsible for casting and execution of M.S.E retaining walls along with supplier (FREYSSINET.Co).
• I worked in execution of bridges foundations (piles and piles caps) including all excavation, dewatering, and reinforced concrete. Also execution of piers and deck slabs (includes reinforced concrete segments, bearing plates, expansion joints, strand ducting and stressing, grouting and barriers. Supervised 200 persons.
Project #2:
Project: Deer Fields Town Square - Abu Dhabi
Main Contractor: Thinet Contracting Co.
Site Civil Engineer; we were the contractor. The project was execution of a raft foundation that was 425x125 sqr.m Period (12/2009 - 05/2010)
My duties were as follows:
• Earthworks: excavation of Foundations, Trenches and dewatering.
• Structural Works: Blinding, water proofing membranes, screed layer, reinforcement (Base and Columns), concrete cast (Quantity Cast is 30, 000 m3).Full awareness was required to prospective mechanical items and installation as per Mechanical Engineer instructions so I was responsible for this coordination and application in site.
• I was managing procurement requests, day-to-day tasks, manpower, preparing daily and weekly reports, coordinating with main contractor’s site team, and handing over accomplished items as well.
Project #3:
Project: Improvement of Al Salam Street - Abu Dhabi.
Client: Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM).
Consultant : Parsons.Ltd
Main Contractor : Samsung Contracting Com.
Project Civil Engineer, the work was Erection of Retaining Walls and Tunnel services units i.e. ventilation rooms, elevators rooms…etc. Period (5/2010 - 03/2011)
My duties were as follows:
• Structural Works : Includes all required construction works to erect RCC retaining walls and utilities rooms, which includes injection hoses installment, scaffolding, formworks panels, concrete casting and installing utilities items such as misting and fire cabinets. I managed more than 100 persons.
• Keeping progress tracking as per scheduled and preparing daily/weekly reports.
• Secure material and manpower that are needed for work.
• Managing site team so that safety is assured and manpower is producing needed daily output.
• Attending daily meetings with the main contractor to review yesterday-today targets. I was Coordinating with the main contractor regarding some resources like; concrete supply, cranes, steel delivery and safety issue.
• Attending weekly meetings to highlight any technical difficulties during the work and safety issues.
Project #4:
Project: Khalifa Port and Industrial Zone ( Abu Dhabi )
Client: Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC)
Consultant : Bechtel Com.
Main Contractor: Consolidated Contractors Company (C.C.C).
Site Civil Engineer, the project was Construction of Two Bridges, 10 Box Culverts. Period (3/2011 - 10/2011).
My duties were as follows:
• To follow, apply and maintain Safety Regulations.
• Structural Works: I was responsible for executing of 2 bridges ( Pile caps, Piers, Deck Slabs, Abutments) and box culverts 78M x 8M each; with all its segments and construction details.
• Coordinating and communicating with main contractor site staff for sake of supplying and providing materials and equipment as per contractually agreed.
• Preparing daily reports and procurement requests.
I worked in some protective maintenance projects which where many items executed in different projects:
• Earth Works (excavation, embankment, structural excavations…etc.)
• Asphalt Works.
• Concrete Works (box culverts, pipe culverts, retaining walls and protection slabs).
• Miscellaneous Works (gabion, riprap, traffic works).
• I was responsible for Preparing Monthly Payment Certificate and Quantities.
• I was responsible to manage day to day activities and manpower distribution.
