Technical Team Leader
(Database Technologies)
As a Technical Team Leader of the department of Database echnologies, I have the mandate to administer, manage and participate in the analysis, data modeling and the optimization of all the databases of every product in the company. I supervise eight developers and I have under my responsibility the development of two products of the whole suite of products.
The administration of the databases include:
•Define/establish permissions for users of the database
•Help different teams in the design of their databases
•Manage and synchronize data
•Provide support to users
•Design of installation scripts and import client data
•Establish and document standards on the use of databases
•Data modeling under SQL Server2000
•Writing scripts and queries (stored procedures, triggers, , etc..)
•Performance analysis and managing database growth and scalability
•Validate the integrity of production data
•Daily tasks of SQL Server DBA
•(backup, restore, import, export and replication, etc…)

Team supervision includes :
•Manage the resources, conflicts between employees and career orientation
•Performance evaluation at the end of fiscal year
•Code review and quality assurance
•Bug fixing and test
•Robustness of product
•Requirement analysis and task assignation to developers
•Discuss progress and give feedback to management

I work on two types of systems:
A real time system that demands the continuous availability of data at all times with no downtime, extensive use of data replication in a distributed system, creation of a backup centre and disaster recovery plans.
A data warehouse system that demands massive data movements, search optimization, availability of data to produce all kind of statistical reports and the distribution of data and reports via web/intranet.
The above mentioned systems are developed using SQL Server 2000, Analysis Services 2000, VB, VB.NET et ASP.NET.

From February 2001 - January 2002
DBA / Data Warehouse Analyst
I developed a data warehouse system targeted at the hospital’s emergency room. I did all the analysis, design, data warehouse architecture and developed all the SQL queries. The system has been presented at the AHQ (Association of Hospitals of Québec) exposition this year. The system is to be deployed at 18 hospitals in February 2002. The data warehouse has been developed on a SQL Server 2000 database, and the front end is displayed as a dynamic pivot table in a browser.

From April 2000 - February 2001
DBA / Data Warehouse Analyst
As a DBA, I have the mandate to develop a data warehouse based on Oracle products using Oracle 8i, Oracle Express Server and Oracle Warehouse builder. My tasks include designing the database, analyzing all the needs required for the data warehouse so that it will become an effective tool and can be used as a decision support system. As well as populating and maintaining the data warehouse.

FROM May 1999 - March 2000

DBA
Working as a DBA, I was responsible for the administration and the design of the database.
•Administration of the database included all of the following: SQL Server installation, configuration, data integrity, security, backups, restore and replication.

•Design of the database included all the following: modeling the database, designing indexes, optimizing, creating tables and writing queries. I have a professional knowledge of the SQL programming language, especially using triggers, cursors and iterations.

FROM September 1998 - April 1999
DBA / Sr. Analyst-Programmer
Joined a team of programmers to develop a Human Resources application on a large scale. The first six month, I was responsible for replication and setting all changes in the database. Also I had a module to develop that represented 30% of the project.
The programming of the project was done in Visual Basic 5.0 Enterprise Edition, fully object oriented.
The replication was done using MS SQL Server 6.5 and a product called Data Transformation Server. The replication flow was the following:
AS/400 to a central SQL Server and then from the central server to 16 other locations in North-America.

DBA / Sr. Analyst-Programmer
Working with Visual Basic 5.0 Enterprise edition, developing 3Tiers Client/server applications. Creating business objects and database access in ActiveX DLL, all the queries in stored procedures on SQL Server 6.5, keeping the client side as thin as possible.
Designed and developed a large scale Budget Analysis System and two departmental projects using the above described method.
Designed and developed a client/server application using Visual Basic 4.0 and SQL Server 6.0. The application is used by the entire company, all over Canada (Almost all departments). It traces the sales by Year-to-date(Ytd), Month-to-date(Mtd), Week-to-date(Wtd), by Brand of product, by Sku and by customer. It generates all kind of reports using Crystal reports 4.5.

Programmer/Analyst
Programming in Visual Basic 4.0 Enterprise Edition and using the latest development tools in concept, design and development. Developed an electronic catalog fully multimedia. Developed an on-line voting system and still worked on other projects
