• Reporting directly to the COO
• Responsible for leading a team of total team of 18 people to ensure growth and gain market share in technical and athleisure sports apparel.
• Successfully strategize and execute growth potential of the following categories in both men’s and ladies’, older boys and girls’ apparel:
Running, Cycling, Gymwear, Activewear, Swimwear, Sports Underwear, Rugby, Football, Golf
• Develop a departmental strategy in keeping with the group strategy through analysis of past sales, market- trends, and design trends
• Communicate and execute strategy through the supply chain; revisit and continuously give feedback on strategic goals
• Ensure strong customer relations and aligned strategies with both branded suppliers and private label suppliers
• Ensure costing and selling prices were market related
• Ensure balanced assortments are presented in keeping with trends and customer demands
• Negotiate costs, manage merchandise-buying cycles, merchandise planning and budgeting
• Interpretation of international trends after buying trips abroad in private label brands
• Sourcing fabrics and suppliers to ensure successful delivery on own-label growth strategies
