1 Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of mechanical systems to ensure that
installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
2 Plan layout of mechanical systems / specify direct modification of products to ensure
conformance with the engineering design and performance specifications.
3 Guide and coordinate in design, evaluation, manufacturing of mechanical products,
equipment, systems and processes applying knowledge of mechanical engineering
principles and standards.
Condut verification inspections of all mechanical aspects of the work to ensure compliance
with the design documents.
4 Oversee installation of engineering / mechancial products at construction sites fully
meeting technical specifications and operational and safety standards.
Support documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications,
codes, and customer requirements.
5 Inspect and investigate equipment failures / malfunctioning to diagnose causes of faulty
operation and recommend modification/correction of equipment, component / system
Attend to customers / clients' technical queries and address concerns.
Investigate customer complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and address /
recommend remedial measures.
Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems and needs; recommend cost-
effective modification/correction of equipment, component / system. Coordinate with design engineers / draftsmen in developing / modifying the structural design of products as required using computer-aided designing / drafting techniques and
tools.
6 Analyze as required the feasibility, design, operation and performance of equipment,
components and systems
Develop and test models of alternative designs and processing methods to assess
feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new applications and necessity of
modifications
7 Support improvement of mechanical systems / components / facilities for engineering
products for construction sites
8 Plan and implement relevant methodology and procedures applying principles of
mechanical theory and standards to all projects under execution at the construction sites
Assist in prepareing specifications for procurement of related materials and equipment
9 Supervise and train project team members as necessary.
Provide on-site direction and guidance to site peronnel / contractors for enforcement of
construction documents and specifications
10 Design test control mechanism and equipment and develop procedures for testing
products.
Technically evaluate and test mechanical products and prepare technical reports
Participate in regularly scheduled construction progress meetings
Coordinate with site management and support related construction efforts to ensure
projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget.
11 Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs
Assist in developing related budgets, estimating labor, material, and construction costs.
12 Conduct field surveys and study maps, graphs, diagrams, and other data to identify and
correct mechanical system problems Confer with engineers, customers, and others to discuss existing or potential engineering /
construction projects and products.
