Determine and check load weight against lifting capacities to ensure crane is properly spotted for safe operation within load limited of crane
Operation of crane and other lifting equipment within crane load limits
Interpret crane load charts, load capacities that ensures safe operation and rigging
during operation.
Determine and check load weight against lifting capacities to prevent overload,
move levers, depress foot pedals or turn dials to operate cranes, cherry pickers,
electromagnets or other moving equipment for lifting moving or placing load. Inspect and adjust crane mechanisms or lifting accessories to prevent
malfunctions or damage.
Inspect cables or grappling devices for wear and install or replace cables as
needed.
Direct helpers engage in placing, blocking or outrigging under cranes
Load or unload bundles from truck, moving containers to storage bins, using
move equipment.
Ensure all required documents such as permit log book, fuel and mileage reports daily/monthly crane inspection reports and related paper work are completed on a requirement basis.
Clean, lubricate and maintain mechanisms such as cables, pulleys or grappling devices making repairs as necessary.
Manage crew during repairs, installation and general pumping unit work.
Oversee daily safety requirement for assigned crew.
Support the development of OHS policies and programmes
Advise and instruct on various safety - refeted topics (noise levels. Use of
machinery etc)
Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventive measures
Review exist policies and measures and update according to legislation.
Initiate and organize OHS training of employees and executives
Inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issue or non-conformity
(e.g not using protective equipment)
Oversee installation, maintenance, disposal of substance etc.
Stop any unsafe act or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
Record and investigate incident to determine cause and handle workers
compensation claims
Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to upper
management.
Provide consistent and detailed order picking loading / staging
Process order based on order timeline and installation
Prepare and stage orders according to schedules.
Identify and source materials from appropriate equipment to process for orders
Unloading trucks by forklift
Provide proper maintenance of equipment and keep work area clean and safe for other persons.
Receive, identify and stock incoming materials as per receiving procedure.

Mooring the ship and taking a watch at sea.
