Position: Project Quantity Surveyor (Responsibility Held/ Job Descriptions)

a) Initiating contractual correspondences as required and appropriate like notification/responding of variations, claims & other contractual issues in line with the contract to ensure that company’s interest are protected all times.
b) Managing the preparation and submission of fully substantiated monthly Progress Payment Application inline in the Contract conditions.
c) Reconcile, control and follow up payments from the Clients/Consultant, maintain and keep up to date all Contractual claim files/logs to easily track that all the entitlement due from the Client are claimed.
d) Analyze / Investigate between Construction Revised drawings, RFI’s, EI’s and Contract drawings to formulate potential variation claims. (Valuation of Variations)
e) Provide advice to the Commercial/Project Manager of any potential contractual claims and keep informed with respect to contract correspondences and prepares response where appropriate.
f) Attending Commercial meetings for reconciliations and agreeing of interim payments, variations & claims as required.
g) Keeping and maintaining proper records of all crucial contractual documents like Proj. Contracts docs, Bonds and Insurances.
h) Preparing financial reports as per company policy like, Cost Value Reconciliation and Cash flows.
i) Scrutinize subcontractor’s prequalification and quotation, to ensure that their offer meets the project required specification.
j) Negotiate star rates, obligations, scope of works, payment terms, bonds and required warranties to potential subcontractors and prepare official recommendation to Comm’l Director as appropriate and required. (Bid Summaries)
k) Preparation of letter of award and subcontract’s to competitive and qualified selected subcontractors. (Subcontract Agreement)
l) Initiate kick off meeting to subcontractors to ensure and clarify their scope and obligations to avoid disputes to ensure the effective progress of the proj.
m) Evaluation of sub-contractors monthly progress claims, variation claims, obligations and prepare interim payment certificate all in accordance with the procedure or as per specified in the subcontract agreement.
n) Participate, assist and coordinate with project team to prepare material submittals to ensure that all inline w/ the project specification and to be within the budget.
o) Coordinate with project planner to obtain critical dates of material site requirements based on the prepared programmed of works ensuring all of the materials are procured on time. (Material Procurement)
p) Mentoring and guiding junior staff such as, Store Keepers, Junior Qs, Document controllers and Project secretary.
