Bounce Middle east
Bounce is a large trampoline entertainment park in Al Barsha, Dubai. My job was to direct adults and children to jump trampoline in a safe manner. I learned how to stay calm even when customers went a bit crazy and reasoned with them without changing our company’s policies. I also did a lot of the parties that were held at Bounce and I helped cleaning and setting up the rooms and making sure the children and their parents were at their happiest during their time with us. I made long days of up to 10 hours jumping around on trampolines, directing people and making sure they stayed safe, all the while keeping a big smile on my face. We were taught how to give first aid, to remain attentive to everything that was going on around us and what to do in case of an emergency on the job. Unfortunately I had to stop working at Bounce because all the jumping was not good for my back. I can say that I have learned a lot from this job and I am hoping my next job will bring me the same satisfaction and help me to learn and grow more.
I Worked in an after school program in Mallorca teaching English to Spanish children in an easy and fun manner, with songs and games to teach the basics of English.
The job required me to make programs and hourly lessons of songs and games to keep the children interested, interacted and also learning while having fun.
I was not allowed to speak to any of the children in Spanish, so this created a language barrier that constantly needed to be overcome, but with patience and ingenuity this was often easy to overcome
I worked as a temp in kangaroo kids for 3 months, having my own class of up to 20 children between the ages of 1-2 years for 5 hours every weekday, between 7:30am and 12:30pm. The days consisted of a range of different educational activities, the challenge for me was to ensure the children stayed entertained and stimulated whilst also learning to the best of each individuals abilities. We would all participate once a week in music and sport, which allowed me to establish the students’ individual strengths and weaknesses, thus allowing me to pay attention to potential areas of improvement. Despite hard and often challenging phases, I managed to ascertain the necessary knowledge to control and manage a large group of students, keeping them occupied and well informed of instructions. Maintaining a communication platform between co-workers and parents was a skill I learnt to utilize efficiently and effectively during my time at Kangaroo Kids Nursery.
I worked for a British company in Dubai specialized in entertaining young children from 3 months to 5 years old. We did 45 minute, largely musical, sessions with the children at which the parents were present as well. We taught them lots of different things, like singing, touching, feeling and identifying objects and animals. All in a playful manner, with lots of singing, running and dancing. After being shown how to do these sessions (according to carefully programmed rituals), I was totally independent and arranged the complete program by myself. I did everything from setting up the scenes, the music and attributes and afterwards tidying everything up again and packing up, making sure everything was ready to take to the next venue.
