A work from Home Developer with different clients and different projects

We are a Solutions provider, we provide tech, medical and customer service expertise to our clients. One of our main clients is a large health care provider in the US.

As a Sr. Tech Lead I am responsible for talking with the Business or clients regarding the requirements and functionalities of a given application. I would then translate it to Technical Specs break it down into modules and assign it to the developers.

Keep constant communication with the Business during the duration of the project and provide time lines from Development -> UAT -> Deployment -> Production Support.

As a Web Developer I am tasked to implement the features and functionalities indicated in the Technical Spec. During this implementation we are strict on adhering to our coding standards and it is our duty to do unit testing as well as implement an overall Project to test the application itself.

Below are the projects I worked on during my stay with the company both as a Web Developer and a Sr. Technical Lead.

Project Involvement
a.) Paper Application - A web application designed for our underwriting coordinators to help them guide an applicant during the Insurance application process. It also serves as the form in which the underwriters would input all applicant information and the health plan that they have chosen. It would automatically calculate the applicant’s monthly premium depending on the applicant’s choice of health plan and optional benefits. It would then save all data from applicant information up to the specifics of the health plan including benefits, coverage and payment.


b.) Project Planner - This is our own version of Microsoft Project. This was designed to properly allocate resources to projects.

It works by adding a new resource/worker or a new project to the system. The user then allocates the proper resources to their projects automatically or manually. It does this by matching the skills a particular resource has and then matches that one to the skills needed by the project. But before the resources is pegged to that project it still checks if the resource is available to work during the duration of that particular project.

c.) Web Audit Tool - This web app is used by Auditors to edit our agents’ calls. After an agent’s call the auditors use this tool to Grade how the agent handled the call.

d.) IRIS - Web application used by our agents to monitor their work time, break time and call time.

e.) Golden Rule Insurance Company (www.uhone.com) -Is a major provider of health care insurance for individuals and families. Plans include: Copay, Health Savings Accounts (HSA) ...

- This was a US based project all the planning, design, documentation and the code framework was done in US alongside our US counterparts. (Indiana, USA) Jan 2011 to Apr 2011

Software Development Engineer في NCR

We are a Retails Solutions Software Company. Being part of this Retail Solutions Company we manufacture POS terminals, Kiosks, Self-service counters, ATM’s and etc.

In this company I specialize on the Retail Store Level which means our software and hardware runs a shopping center or could be the whole mall.

As a software development Engineer I attend to the software running on the servers that caters all the requests from all the POS machines from a simple price look-up down to the data storage of all transactions of all the POS machines.


Project Involvement
f.) RCS AS - This software caters all the POS machines including the servers catering the requests of these POS’s
- As part of this project we are responsible for maintaining our solutions, communication, bug fixing, documentation and addition of new features.
g.) NCR CBO - Also known as Common Back Office this project is a newly initiated project, this project was conceptualized due to the fact that here in NCR we have a lot of teams and each one has its own set of solutions catering to there customers. Therefore with this kind of setup there are a lot of redundancies. The goal of this project is to unite all teams under one common framework and foundation. Therefore all the teams would now be using one common solution for all our customers. Eliminating code redundancy, improving efficiency and lessening company cost.

This is a Japanese firm and most of our projects come from Japan. But our line of business is Inventory Systems. So our software keeps track of materials, stocks deliveries and basically anything to do with warehousing.

We create these Inventory Systems based on the specs that our counterparts in Japan give us.

Our system is using T-SQL as backend (Database)
C# and ASP.net as the Front End (UI)

Project Involvement
a.) Shimadzu Inventory System
- This inventory system was created for one of our clients in Japan, just like any other Inventory System it has the basic features but was retro-fitted to fit their needs.
- Since Shimadzu was warehouse and production, the bulk of the features we’re mainly keeping track of the items in warehouse and what items needed to create one single finished product. It keeps track of what gets in and out and all the items that are in warehouse.

This was a windows application that were using the ff technologies
.NET 1.1, C#, XML, XSLT, XSD and SQL Server 2005

b.) BUG Japan
- This was a web-based time keeping and time scheduling system. This would keep track of an employee’s time in a company like time-in, time-out, and number of hours worked.
- Basically these are some of its features:
• It calculates the average hours the employee worked for a particular project per day or per month.
• It calculates the probable costs of the project based on the average work rendered by the employee.
• Generate daily, monthly and annual reports.
• Plus it contains a small calendar feature that would show your “to do” list.

These were the technologies used when the web app was created:
ASP.NET 1.1, C#, JavaScript, CSS, XML and SQL Server 2005
