* Generate and circulate EHS material to appropriated members of the committee.
* Inspect the department to ensure the workplace meets the various safety requirements.
* Ensure that monthly inspection of Fire Extinguishers, Exit Lights, Emergency Lighting, and
other EHS checks are carried out.
* Respond to reports of unsafe conditions (e.g. electrical hazards, loose stair tread, etc.) by
requesting repairs or maintenance. In some circumstances, material may have to be prepared
for annual submission to the Repairs and Alterations budget.
* Accompany staff from the Department of Environmental Health and Safety, Joint Health
and Safety Committees, and external agencies during workplace inspections.
* Follow up on any deficiencies noted during inspections and ensure that they are corrected.
* Assist EHS Committee members with investigating all accidents and send reports to the
Department of Environmental Health and Safety. Ensure the completion of incident
report/accident and their retention in the Committee file.
* Notify the head of EHS of critical accidents, unsafe conditions or any threats.
* Ensure all staff receive the information with respect to
o Fire Safety;
o Chemical Safety;
o Radiation Safety;
o Biohazard Safety;
* Facilitate oral communication between language minority persons and district staff by interpreting
telephone conversations, conference calls, in-person conversations, etc. during school hours, for
parent/teacher conferences, after school activities, meetings, and other school functions.
* Translate school-home communications, school-school communications, school-other parties’
communications, and system-wide documents from English to Arabic and vice versa.
* Attend conferences and meetings and act as official translator to mediate discussion as well as write
meeting minutes.
* Use technology in English and/or Arabic in appropriately formatting, translating, saving and
retrieving work.
* Clarify content and terminology.
* Review and evaluate documents.
* Assume responsibility for quality of translation work submitted by reviewing, editing, and revising
own work and quality of interpretation by clarifying ideas and messages to assist with
understanding.
* Learn new translation.
* Assist during free time in administrative work such as recording attendance, supervision,
storekeeping, and sending and receiving correspondences.
* Manage the official school Facebook page and manage photography in kindergarten events.
* Edit stories and curricular material prepared by school employees.
* Perform all other job-related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

* Check translations of technical terms and terminology to ensure that they are accurate and remain
consistent throughout translation revisions.
* Read written materials, such as legal documents, scientific works, or news reports, and rewrite
material into specified languages.
* Refer to reference materials, such as dictionaries, lexicons, encyclopedias, and computerized
terminology banks, as needed to ensure translation accuracy.
* Compile terminology and information to be used in translations, including technical terms such as
those for legal or medical material.
* Listen to speakers' statements to determine meanings and to prepare translations, using electronic
listening systems as necessary.
* Check original texts or confer with authors to ensure that translations retain the content, meaning,
and feeling of the original material.
* Compile information on content and context of information to be translated and on intended
audience.
* Discuss translation requirements with clients and determine any fees to be charged for services
provided.
* Adapt software and accompanying technical documents to another language and culture.
* Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity.
* Manage data collection projects by meeting paper and electronic mailing deadlines, entering data,
