Construction Supervision for 500kV Transmission Line 3rd Circuit Jamshoro-Moro-Dadu to Rahim Yar Khan (600km) and Moro Substation Project
The project named "Storm Water Drainage System from Haji Camp via Lakshmi Chowk, Nabha Road, Chuburji and Sham Nagar to River Ravi" comprises Nine (09) kilometers long reinforced concrete drain from Haji camp to River Ravi. As Assistant Resident Engineer performing responsibilities like establishing & maintaining effective communication between the Resident Engineer, Client and Contractor; reviewing and evaluating the Contractor’s safety, progress, quality and cost of the construction work; and recommending to Resident Engineer Project Manager the matters relating to the designs according to the site conditions.
At Neelum Jhelum Hydro-Electric Project (a consortium of MWH, NORPLAN, NESPAK, ACE & NDC)
- Planning and Designing of Infrastructure facilities like residential colonies including their roads, sewerage, water supply and drainage networks.
- To respond to contract related queries raised at site and provide relevant documents e.g. specs, construction drawings etc. as and when required.
- To review contractor submitted shop drawings.
- To coordinate with JV partners for site related queries and issuance of new designs.
- As Senior Engineer performed preliminary study and design of Storm Water Drainage System that included setting of storm water collection system by comparison of gate inlets and interceptors and adjustment of profiles for connecting pipes for collection system as per profile of Main Storm Water Carrying system of the project.
• Establishment and maintenance of effective communication between the Project Manager, Client and Contractor.
• To check and inspect the works frequently to ensure that the Drawings and Specifications are being properly interpreted and applied.
• To ensure quality of work through performance of material quality tests both in-situ and at external laboratories.
• To review and evaluate the contractor’s request for approval of materials, equipment, sub-contractors etc.
• To check and evaluate the contractor’s payment certificates, and forward to Engineer through Project Manager.
• Establishment and maintenance of effective communication between the Resident Engineer, Client and Contractor.
• Review and evaluation of Contractor’s safety, progress, quality and cost of construction work in consultation with RE.
• Recommendation to the Client through Resident Engineer for necessary variations in the works and informing them of the effect on the safety, progress, quality, and cost of the construction works.
• Recommendation to the Resident Engineer the matters relating to the designs according to the Client requirements and site conditions.
• Information communication to the RE about the effect of all designs on the safety, progress, quality and cost of the construction works.
• To Collect and update daily Concreting Reports, coordinate Concrete cylinder testing and Post concrete inspection.
• To check and inspect the works frequently to ensure that the Drawings and Specifications are being properly interpreted and applied.
• To Provide required Technical resources (like Plasform, Tower Cranes, etc)to the Site Management.
• To Prepare As-Built drawings.
• To ensure application of Concrete surface treatment and water proofing chemicals.
• To perform Safe work practices like, near-miss reporting, hazard identification, risk assessment & control, job safety analysis, deliver tool box talk, emergency response plan development and its communication.
• To prepare and update progress reports.To supervise the works including layout, excavation, piling to ensure that the Drawings and Specifications are being properly interpreted and applied.
• To supervise structural work including concreting of slabs, beams, columns, retaining walls, finishing work including brick & block masonry, plastering, flooring, scaffolding etc.
• To ensure the formwork is supportive and safe to work on.
• To ensure the placement of steel as per Drawings.
• To gauge concrete strength by crushing sample cylinder.
I have completed 9 subjects and Thesis-I with 3.56 CGPA, the only left subject is Thesis-II which is being continued and i hope to complete the degree up to December 2016.
It was a 90 cerdit hour course in which i obtained 1026 marks out of 1500 (68%) while continuing my job
