• Role objective is to advise and assist the QA/QC team in supervising on site construction activities to ensure quality assurance and quality control from start to completion of the construction project.
• Conduct supervision responsibilities in adherence to guidelines as indicated in the client’s Supervision Manual; ensure that supervision guidelines are being adhered to by site architects at all times
• Review and understand all project contract documents (drawings, shop drawings, composite coordinate service shop drawings, specifications, contract documents); coordinate with other site architects and engineers before construction activities commence
• Notify the contractor of any discrepancies identified against contract documents in order for corrective action to be taken
• Inspect all works in progress and when offered for inspection by the contractor and answers contractor’s queries. - RFI's
• Review related items within the contractor’s construction schedule (CCS) in coordination with the Planning Engineer (e.g. shop drawing submittal log, procurement schedule, and material submittal log etc.) prior to its approval by the Resident Engineer.
• Review and approve contractors submittals including material approval requests, method statements with relevant inspection and test plans, shop drawings, mock-ups
• Review related construction materials, technical data and material and finishes samples submitted by contractors; ensure compliance against project requirements and technical specifications.
• Inspect related procured construction materials delivered to the site, to ensure compliance against ministerial requirements and specifications/contract documents/approvals
• Ensure that all materials delivered on site are being adequately stored and protected as per manufacturer’s recommendations in order to avoid damage of materials
• Ensure that related works non-compliance to the (CCS) is communicated to PM on a timely basis in order to avoid any delays in construction
• Ensure the maintaining of onsite quality control (e.g. testing of materials and verifying of materials, adequate storage of materials, contractor’s submittal of written undertakings, warranty and protection of installed systems etc.)
• Review “mock ups” and “progress work” against contract documents; make commentaries and recommendations to the QA/QC Engineers/Architect as required
• Contribute to managing the health and safety of all on-site personnel; report any observed safety violations to the PM and Ensure health and safety of architects/engineers working on site
• Lead in resolving design and technical coordination issues with Finishes, Structure, Electro-mechanical, landscape, etc. on the project.
• Lead the snagging procedure after substantial completion of construction activities have ended; ensure that a snag list is prepared based on defective/outstanding works for the contractor to rectify, repair and complete for re-inspection.
Duties and Responsibilities as an Architect Technical Engr.
• Responsible for Preparation & Submittals of Shop-drawing in accordance with engineering base lines schedule.
• Responsible for Communication and coordination with Consultant in accordance with the Design, Technical clarification, Variations and Engineering Change Request.
• Responsible for the Preparation & control of Shop & As Built Drawing & Coordination with all Trades.
• Accountable for Review of materials submittals for compliance with Engineering requirements.
• Accountable for Preparation of Engineering & Technical Submission for approval.
• Conduct review of tender documentation for the project set of tender documents for completeness and rationalization of interfacing.
• Provide technical support and technical quality control throughout all the stages of the project.
•Coordinates progress of Shop Drawings with the Status of material submittal approvals and other technical issues.
• Provides professional expertise in resolving conflicting design data through constant review of Construction Drawing, Vendor shop drawings and Project Specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities as Site Architect.
• Direct responsible for distribution of Manpower handle control through each location area to work at site implementing quality control and quality assurance.
• Direct responsible in submittal of Inspection Request (IR) to SBG QA/QC team for inspection of Zuhair Fayez Partnership for approval in order for the works to proceed without any delay.
• Performs technical review of drawings, material samples, product data, catalogue, purchase order, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manual, subcontractors shop drawings and technical data to assure compliance with the contract requirements.
• Conduct a joint inspection with the 3rd party, company to take note any deficiency that needs to be rectified.
