I taught Fundamentals of Accounting, Accounting for Partnership and Corporation, Income Taxation, Business and Transfer Taxation, Financial Management, Financial Analysis & Reporting, Strategic Financial Management. I see to it that at the end of the semester/term, my students would be able to execute the accounting process and prepare the financial statements. Be able to organize and make the necessary accounting procedure from the opening of a Partnership and Corporation form of business to its liquidation. Be able to compute for the tax due both for income taxpayers and business and transfer taxes. I made sure that my students are adept to the necessary theories and applications for sound financial decision making. I am also designated non-teaching tasks such: Preparation of our Department’s Annual Budget, Annual Procurement Plan, Annual Class Scheduling, Annual Faculty Workload, Activity Proposal, and Budget Preparation for our department’s activity. As part of my four fold function, I impart my accounting and financial knowledge and skills to the community by inculcating Bookkeeping, Budgeting, Financial Management Literacy and Cost Cutting Production Methods to the community through the extension services of the university. I also serve as evaluator for the Feasibility, Research, and Thesis defense of the department’s graduating students.

Corporate Accounting

As a corporate accounting staff, it is my responsibility to prepare check voucher, release checks, release salaries for part-time and contract of service employees, deposits payroll checks and bills payments. I am also assigned to make encashment of checks for petty cash funds, replenish the petty cash funds, assist in the preparation of payroll. I also do the bookkeeping for the other incomes of the organization and prepare financial reports for such. I am also given the task to transact with the Bureau of Internal Revenue and other clerical jobs deemed necessary.

Audit Staff at NEGRENSE, INC

As an Audit Staff, my responsibility is to audit the food and beverage department of the ships assigned to me. I checked sales report every time the ships docked and do the spot check for the inventory. It is also my undertaking to do a monthly physical count of all the inventories in the food and beverage department of the ship and make monthly report of the counting. I see to it that every scheduled docking of the ship in our base port, the cashier and the commissary officer will submit their reports and checked each reports for accuracy, completeness, and correctness. I see to it that the reports submitted and accounting methods or process used in the preparation of these reports are in conformity with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. I am also assigned non-audit task as deemed necessary such as clerical works, and other financial related jobs.

The BS Accounting program is taught in a variety of teaching methods such as case analysis, individual and group reports, simulations, classroom discussions and guest lecturers. It also includes extensive exposures to business immersions (an internship where there is a probability that the company will hire/absorb you after graduation) and an on-the-job training that will provide you with the understanding of practical accountancy.
