tertiary level specialized hospital under the ministry of Health of the government of Libya, with a total capacity of one thousand two hundred (1200) beds, catering to various discipline of emergency medicine, internal medicine, gastroenterology, pulmonology, cardiology, endocrinology, pediatric and neonatal, anesthesiology, neurosurgery, , orthopedics, plastic, maxillo facial, ent, cardiothpracic, vascular and general surgeries, cath lab, angiography, medical, surgical, cardiovascular and thoracic, coronary care, pediatric and neonatal intensive care units.obstetric, gynecology, and maternity surgery, urology, nephrology, and hemodialysis, hematology, and oncology, endoscopy, and laporascopy, mri, ct-scan, ultrasonography, echocardiography, radiology, pathology, and laboratory, physiotheraphy and outpatient services.
Duties and Responsibilities :
a. assesses the individuals needs for nursing care based on the patients history, results of physical, diagnostic, and laboratory examinations.
b. assisting doctors round and carrying orders prescribed.
c. performs appropriate treatments as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner.
d. perform therapeutic nursing intervention as established by individuals plan of care for the infant, toodler and preschool such as :
1. IV cannulate and extracting blood smple for laboratories.
2. Taking vital signs and recording to patient chart.
3. inserting OGT and ngt to patients.
4. Giving prescribed meds and blood transfussion as ordered.
e. Initiates emergency resuscitative measures according to pediatric resuscitation protocols.
f. Preparing patient for surgery cases.
g. Observing post- surgery cases and informing doctors on duty to any abnormalities observe and seen.
h. Maintains confidentiality in matters related to patients, family, and clients facility staff.
I. Ensuring that the patients chart is comprehensive and all paperwork is completed and signed.
J. Reports patient condition to appropriate personnel during each shift.
K. Ensuring patient is comfortable.
its a government unit involved in pre hospital setting. its a 24 /7 on its open service. respond to accident trauma and medical emergencies. provides emergency lifesaving case to people who are seriously ill or injured.
its a secondary hospital which is 100 bed capacity. my functions performed requires sound judgement based on the application of scientific knowledge and skills guided by the established philosophy, goals, objectives, standards, policies and procedures in our unit.
