Process Engineering Tasks
o Process Engineering input to conceptual, front end and detailed Engineering design (line sizing (and hydraulic analysis), vessel sizing, Relief, Flare and Blowdown Studies, Control Valve sizing, Pump & Compressor Rating, hydrate management, gas conditioning, etc)
o Process Design validations and assurance
o Process Engineering input to Asset Optimization and debottlenecking
o Update and preparation of P&IDs, PSFS, PFD and UFD
o Process Simulation(s) using Honeywell Unisim Design, Aspen Hysys, Pipesim, etc
o Preparation of Heat and Material Balance reports
o Process Engineering input to Alarm Management for Process Safety
o Process Engineering input to Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test
o Process Engineering input to the development of a logic from Dynamic (Static) Suppression by providing a detailed insight to the possibly Suppression Triggers through an understanding of the consequence of variable inhibition
o Development of Process Design Reports (Basis for design, Process Safeguarding memorandum, Process Capacity Report, API 14C Compliance Report, Fuel Gas Consumption Calculation Reports, Intelligent Pigging Flow Assurance Reports, Pipeline Capacity and Steady State Flow Assurance Reports, etc)
o Verification of Instrument and Alarm Representation on Process Engineering Flow Scheme and Utility Engineering Flow Schemes; ensuring they are in-line with Company and Industry Standards.
o Process Engineering input to PAS and IPS design for Process Control (and shutdown) and development of process control philosophy
o Process Engineering input to LOPA, SIL Classification, HAZOP, Bow tie analysis and other PHA techniques
o
Operations Excellence Assurance
(Operations Excellence tasks involve remote audits for Process Safety Assurance)
Ensure compliance to other elements of the Operations Excellence; PTW Effective - Monitor and enforce Shell Tiered System to Audits i.e. Level 1 through to Level 4. Production Operations alignment with Integrated Operations Guides for - LO/LC Valves, Passing Valves, Management of Inhibits & Overrides, Temporary Hoses, Temporary Repairs and Temporary Equipment. Asset Fitness checks upon uncontrolled shutdowns, major maintenance and Turn around Maintenance to ensure safe restart. Enforcing Dynamic Risk Assessments during Operations and Maintenance team Non routine tasks. Auditing communication and Handover note between operations & maintenance crews to ensure effective handover. Compliance to Management of Change standards, Implementation of Relentless Production Improvement Scope (Work Standardization, Maintenance consumables management, Structured day, Outside Operator monitoring, Equipment Ownership, Abnormal Situation Management, etc.). Legal compliance, etc.
Define concepts, develop engineering designs, Provide support and troubleshooting assistance to the production and maintenance departments. Support the site teams in the review of designs, and develop and monitor interface design between new and old facilities. Participate in the review and development of commissioning and operating procedures for the new facilities. Develop tie-in of new facilities and ensure integrity and safe operation. Coordinate and participate in safety related studies, attend HAZOP meetings, carry-out LOPA etc
