Providing project management services and coordinating activities with Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT), EPC Contractors and Refinery Departments to facilitate performance of Technical Services Department of the OQ8 Duqm Refinery.
Responsibilities:
 Responsible for coordinating all activities of Engineering Department.
 Prepare engineering procedures and policies for efficient functioning of engineering department.
 Coordinate with all Refinery Departments (Operations, Maintenance, and HSSE) and within Technical Services Department on receiving and developing Engineering Services Requests (ESRs).
 Maintain updated records of status of all projects at all stages such as basic engineering, FEED, detailed engineering, material procurement, construction until closing of all activities for all projects/engineering studies.
 Coordinating and assisting discipline engineers for preparing tendering strategies, scope of work, issuing tenders, receiving bids, evaluation of bids and award of contracts.
 Raising Purchase Requisitions, for procurement of materials and services, coordinating with Procurements and Contracts on progressing the activities from tendering and award of contracts.
 Coordinating with IPMT/EPC Contractors during commissioning and start-up activities. Coordinating walkdown activities, punch listing, maintaining updated records of all systems/subsystems.
 Coordinator responsible for overseeing change management process, working with MOC originators, screening committee and approvers to ensure comprehensive review, execution and logging of all changes.
 Receiving and maintain records of all soft and hard copies of documentation (TDR and Non-TDR) handed over by EPC Contractors and assisting in uploading softcopies in Information Management Systems of the Company and keeping hardcopies in Document storage locations.
 Participates in progress review meetings with Contractors to monitor performance and suggests corrective steps in case of deviation from agreed schedules. Offers guidance to external Contractor’s team as required.
 Lead, monitor and ensure quality assurance during execution of projects from a technical perspective by performing site visits, over-viewing inspections and ensure Contractor is complying with predefined scope of work and with all safety procedures.
 Coordinate with the Third-Party Engineering supplier ensuring that Company is offered the best quality products and services at competitive prices.
 Ensure that project completion, acceptance and handover procedures are implemented as per project specification, company policy and applicable code & standard.
 Provide project controls covering a specific area of any project activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.
 Provide update on project status, modify schedules and plans as required.
 Implement work schedules and monitor progress of work for timely execution of projects through weekly reports.
 Maintain log of warranty notifications and defects rectification identified during start-up and initial operations of Refinery.

Mechanical Project Engineer at Montego Upstream Services Ltd

This project comprises the Engineering, Procurement and Construction for the rehabilitation of Port Harcourt Refining Company, which belongs to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). The overall project value is estimated at $1.5bn and our client is Maire Tecnimont.

Responsibilities:
 Interface with clients in project construction activities and this includes interpreting their needs and requirement, and ensuring their requirements are met.
 Developing procedures for various tasks and specifications for needed project equipment.
 Review PFD/P&IDs, Piping construction drawings and develop BOQ, MTO etc.
 Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects.
 Formulating project parameters and assigning responsibilities to the most capable employees and monitoring the project team.
 Interacting with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing them in the field.
 Raising purchase requisition using SAP for procurement of materials and services. Following up with procurement and contracts on progressing the activities from tendering to award of contracts.
 Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status.
 Participating in weekly progress review meetings to monitor performance and recommend corrective measures where necessary.
 Cooperating and communicating with the construction manager and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability.
 Contribute to design checks for constructability as well as the compliance to all technical requirements of deliverables provided by engineering team.
 Ensuring compliance to all safety procedures.
 Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.
