As GM of Information Technology (IT) & Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) I am responsible for all activities of the automation at Yemen Customs. That includes decision making on how to improve the automated infrastructure of the organization. I am the executive manager of the X-Ray scanners project and the ASYCUDA-project. Under my responsibility work more than 100 officials.I am a member of different committees inside the organization.
I was the executive Manager of a huge investment project between the governments of Yemen and China. The purchase and installation of 8 big x-ray scanners units to scan vehicles/containers at several major ports and entry border offices of Yemen. After successfully finishing that project, I was nominated as the GM of Automation at Yemen Customs, was responsible for many automated projects and activities.
I was the IT manager of the automated project at Yemen Customs (called ASYCUDA), analysed and determined needs of automation in Customs (equipment, Software, and refurbishments), developed systems and lead the team who implemented the systems. I reported directly to the Director General of Yemen Customs and UNDP office in Yemen.I was contracted to UNCTAD in Geneva through UNDP-Yemen.
I studied at that university form 1982 to 1989. completed Higher Diploma and then Masters. After that I completed one year technical experience at Robotron Technical Institute in Leipzig/ Germany. Main study language was German.
