Corporate Senior Information Systems Manager - EDI Specialist
Analyze, design and develop specifications for enhancements and extensions to electronic data interchange application interfaces and maps. Test, implement and maintain EDI transactions. Provides technical expertise and support for EDI communications
General duties include the following:
• To analyze, document and propose solutions for all Express and EDI related systems and to prepare functional specifications.
• Collecting, understanding, and transmitting the business requirements for the project, and translating these into functional specifications and detailed test plans.
• Analyze and document business processes
• Developing EDI solutions.
• Document workflows and results of business analysis and obtain sign-off from related business units on the specifications.
• To provide the link between the business unit and the development team regarding software functionality and requirements, throughout the development lifecycle.
• To design and execute the test scenarios and test scripts.
• Evaluate current system performance and efficiency.
• Assist in projecting future system requirements to meet future workloads.
• Assist with system evaluations and recommend improvements aligned with business objectives.
• Day to day management of system change requests.
• Provide day-to-day support to end users
• Worked in London Office on Special EDI projects for Europe Region.
• To make recommendations, analyze trends, anticipate customer technical evolution and handle complex technical issues and changes.
• To ensure that all customer requests for service are dealt with promptly and professionally and services are delivered to the agreed schedule
• To manage the customer's expectations
• To seek feedback from the customer and their users and develop, agree and implement any Continual Service Improvement Plans (CSIPs) required.
• Regular service reviews.
• contribute to the customer operation configuration design (preparation, configuration and acceptance testing)
Senior Information Systems Team Member
Leading the IT Operations and Support team:
• Overseeing all security related responsibilities and activities within the IT Department on a local and network level.
• Administering and maintaining our Microsoft SQL Servers and Databases.
• Implementing and Managing Microsoft Exchange 2003.
• Implementing, Managing & Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure.
• Systems administration (Operations).
• Day to day tasks that included but not limited to the following (Local and Network Level):
A. Service Desk Operations
• Solving incidents as they arrive via phone, mail, and helpdesk.
• Escalate problems to second line support when necessary
• Inform users of scheduled downtimes or any service outage
• Watch incident trends and escalate when necessary
B. Service monitoring
• Attend to system functionality monitors
• Resolve alerts as they arise
• Inform second line support for unfamiliar and critical alerts
C. System operation and administration
• Datacenter Backup.
• Managing deployments.

Responsible for setting up the organization’s main data center in the UK:
o Purchasing all required equipment.
o Installing all new equipment as per required specifications.
o Installing operating system on all servers and ensuring functionality.
o Setting up the network as per Aramex network standards and procedures.
o Providing continuous support and assisting in trouble shooting any existing or potential problems that may arise.
