Drive the implementation & enactment of Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority regulations & directives throughout the bank
* Provide critical insight into instilling and fully supporting the culture of compliance as a discipline in the GIB organization
* Collaborate with SAMA on the interpretation of rules to direct GIB operations in accordance with all SAMA regulations
* Conduct quarterly Audit Committee & Compliance meetings to update all stakeholders & management on GIB compliance
* Spearhead the securing of business licenses for new Fintech operations to secure relationships & understanding with SAMA
* Formulate a comprehensive strategic masterplan to consolidate & coordinate existing GIB compliance systems & programs
* Optimize GIB relationships with SAMA & act as the focal point for all communications related to the bank’s performance
* Assess & analyze international business activities in the region to ensure compliance with SAMA & government regulations
* Review & assess directives prior to the new product or service launches to guarantee alignment with SAMA rules & pricing
* Strengthen ties with monetary authorities to facilitate smooth review of products & services & avoid violations or penalties
* Guide & mentor internal teams on compliance issues to review & assess any communications directed to SAMA relating to:
o Anti-fraud
o Inbound & Outbound Cash Flows
o New Accounts
o Financial Reporting
o Audit Procedures
o Customer Care
o Principles of Lending
o Debit Burden Ration
* Motivate & execute risk assessment analyses to evaluate the impact of new regulatory conditions based on SAMA directives
* Guide and synchronize SAMA conduct inspection visits to GIB to facilitate smooth cooperation with regulatory authorities
* Develop & implement self-assessment checklists to monitor & ensure that the Bank is compliant with mandates at all times
* Spearhead profit comparisons between GIB performance & SAMA rules to avoid penalties & violations in achieving target
* Review & assess amendments to current products & services as per SAMA rules & convey impact to compliance committee
* Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors, Senior Management, and bank personnel to ensure that all representatives
are compliant with the rules and edicts of the KSA regulatory agencies
Achievements:
Successfully introduced new policies & procedures into Gulf International Bank operating processes to formalize reporting
structures aligned to greater levels of SAMA cognizance resulting in the creation of a compliance culture within the bank
Instilled dedication and commitment in identifying the need to prioritize greater assimilation and reaction to SAMA
regulatory directives resulting in the reduction of penalties and violations on the bank by 10%
