Primary role and responsibilities included delegation, execution, control and completion of all tasks to the team of respective Project Engineers, cursor review, expertise and assistance on all project related matters such as change notices, change orders, critical technical issues, waivers, project performance and progress
monitoring, quality control through PRP, implementation of Shell Global System Best Practices, interfaces with other adjacent projects and within the Complex, schedules, cost control, finance matters, claims,
duties, imports, equipment and material control, document management system, human resources, major
communications, pre-commissioning activities, project deliverables such as installation and operating
manuals, special tools and spare parts.
Working, interacting and coordinating very closely with Project Manager, Construction Managers, Operation
Manager, Maintenance Manager, Engineering Leader, QA/QC Leader and Construction Superintendents.
Fully involved in Project Management Functionalities related to engineering, design, 3D model reviews,
HAZOP analysis, Open Book Conversion Estimates (OBCE) during conversion of Contract from Lump Sum
Services (LSS) to Lump Sum Turn Key (LSTK), procurement, construction, process and maintenance
aspects by coordinating with and supporting concerned professionals within PMTs, SK Operations,
Maintenance and Safety Departments, Contractors on a regular basis, cost optimization and value
engineering exercises for electrical discipline.
Additionally contributing as a Team Leader for Process Licensor Assignments (Badger and KBR), Plant
Readiness Program (PRP), corporate audit, incinerator package and auxiliaries, storm water drain system,
reordering of damaged Cumene column reboiler (E-51032), ground water monitoring wells besides
substantial support for rectification of Ruhrpumpen pumps, ESMP (Environmental and Social Management
Plan), ECC (Environmental Consent to Construct), Permit Application Package (PAP), SK Initiatives and skill
improvement packages, vendor trainings and major correspondences.
Deputed to USA, Europe and Arab countries on business trips on behalf of Saudi Kayan for representations,
meetings, clarifications, resolutions, inspections and expeditions of critical equipments, materials and trouble shootings for the project.

Phenolics Buildings (Control Room, Maintenance Workshop and Substation)
2. Successful and safe, pre commissioning and turnover of Saudi Kayan Phenolics Tankage, Cumene, Phenol and BPA plants.

3. Successful and safe, pre commissioning and turnover of Saudi Kayan BPA and Phenol Heavies New
Incinerator Area.
4. Through defiant review and extensive efforts by verifying the estimates, optimizing the revised design and installation requirements, each material and reducing the quantities within permissible limits, as a team
member, successfully managed to bring a realistic cost savings of 360 million US $ for Saudi Kayan during conversion of Contract from LSS to LSTK.
5. Contributed substantially for the FEED Package for the preparation, discussions, close-out of technical,
execution, contractual and commercial aspects through final award of EPC Contract to Contractor.
6. As the Team Leader, successfully completed the 100% integration of Plant Readiness Program (PRP) into
Commissioning & Start Up (CSU)
7. Successfully completed the energization of Substation 50 for Phenolics Plant.
8. Successfully completed the energization of Substation 50A for Incinerator Area.
9. Trained many fresh Saudi engineers in related fields such as Project Management, Construction, Technical and Contractual aspects.
