• Review of work scope to determine WPS requirements with respect to ranges of materials, sizes and proposed welding processes in line with specification and code requirements.
• Preparation of WPS, Conducting procedure qualification (PQR), conducting welder performance qualification, preparation of welder’s cards and maintaining qualification list of welders.
• Preparing and reviewing all QA/QC procedures, PQP, ITP etc. and getting approval from client.
• Perform Material inspection & insure that all the Material must comply with MTC’s, MTO, PO, DN and Standard, specification, check lists.
• Fit up, Welding inspection and follow up repairs and repair work on daily basis with construction.
• Working Knowledge of ASME codes ASME B31.3, Section IX, API 570, 574, 571, and 577.
• Material worked and experienced the WPS and PQR on; P1, P42, P8.
• Welding Inspection of Piping and Steel Structure work according to the ASME sec. IX, AWS D1.1 and Visual Examination Procedure.
• Review of NDE Reports, Hardness reports, PWHT reports and RT Film Interpretation.
• Review of Welder Lots and verification of NDE completion as required by the Project Specifications and Standards.
• Preparation of Hydro / Pneumatic test packs/reports and Witnessing the Hydro/Pneumatic Test activities.
• Witnessing and Reviewing NDT activities DPT, MT, and RT and there reports.
• Participating in weekly review meetings with the client
• Raising PAR, CAR & NCR and their control and follow up till closing.
• To ensure that welding is performed as per approved & recommended procedures & WPS.
• Inspection of Materials with my Engineering background of material science, welding technology and metallurgical engineering.
• To monitor Consumable handling, storage, welding rod issuance and return log book, and baking log book.
• Handle the tasks of responding to welding technical queries and perform investigation of field welding related problems.
• Responsible for maintaining safe working environment for all personnel working on the job site.
• Quality Surveillance on site welding, pre-fabrication, painting and coating to monitor the welding activities as per Project specification and Welding Procedure specifications.
• Reviewing of Shop Drawings, Customer Specifications and Procedures Coordinating with third party Inspectors & Clients to implement their Hold points.
• Monitoring the proper implementation of the Quality Control policies and plans, as described in the Quality Control Manual.
• Coordinate with engineering and construction staff as well as with clients on welding requirements
• Inspection of surface preparation before painting/coating activities. Preblast checks:-Abrasive types, its storage, temperature & dew point. Post Blast Examination:-Surface cleanliness & Profile.
