Handling the Central Business District of Kolkata Circle as the Operations Head for 3G, GSM, CDMA, Data, Blackberry and Device Business (Mobile Handsets, smartphones, TABs and Datacards).
Heading a team of 20 people covering both Voice and Data business streams of around 20 million USD per annum
In this profile I’m handling four separates sales verticals:
1. Mass Distribution Channel: on the FMCG model covering mass retail sales through multi brand outlets.
2. Organized Retail Channel: through company’s own retail stores based on customer walkins and sales conversions up/cross selling.
3. Direct Outbound Channel: through a fleet of feet on street who directly approach customers and sell products across the table.
4. Device Sales Channel : through the typical white goods channel
Handling the entire Jabalpur Zone comprising of 15 Districts, responsible for end to end operations of the entire zone as profit centre head.
Handling 60 Prepaid distributors, 5 Super Rural Distributor, 75 Associate Distributors, 5 franchisee owned Vodafone Mini Stores, 1 company owned Vodafone Store and over 75 rural mini stores.
Pivotal role in taking prepaid business to 160000 plus acquisitions and primary to over 12million USD pa from scratch.
Established a postpaid business of over 2 million USD.
Led to zone to second position among 25 zones of Western Region.
Steering entire sales & marketing activities in the assigned territory of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.
Managing a team of 4 Area Sales Managers, 30 Sales Executives, each heading their respective teams consisting of 200 FOS.
Stellar role in boosting sales from 3500 per month in Nov 06 to over 8000 in May 07.
Received Presidents award for best City Sales Manager across the country four times in a row.
Won Champion of champion's award for highest consumer internet sales in the country.
Administering the entire gamut of sales & marketing activities in the assigned territory of Indore Region.
Directing channel sales, direct sales, prepaid business, franchisee setup, SME business and revenue enhancement.
Managing a team of 1 Manager (ZSM), 4 Assistant Managers, 2 Senior Executives and 2 Executives, each heading their respective teams.
Key role in boosting PCO business by 15% between Jan 06 to Sept 06.
Pivotal in boosting the SME business by 20% between Jan06 and Sept 06
Stellar role in initiating a new concept of Building Area Network by selling complete telecom solutions to residential apartments
1. Assistant Manager (Corporate Sales & Customer Relations) for (June 01 to Oct 02),
The profile included handling of corporate, VIP and major clients. The profile required the provisioning of a single window to the above clients and as such included corporate sales, after sales service, billing, credit control, collections and the responsibility to provide maximum customer delight.
2. (April 2000 to May 01), As Territory Manager Channel and Retail sales. The profile involved management of channel partners namely Franchisees and Value Added Retailers and achievement of monthly sales targets through them, business development in the form of promotional packages offered through channel partners.
Worked with Penguin Research Laboratories (P) Ltd as a Liaisoning Officer between July 1999 and March 2000. The company is a major supplier of drugs to government hospitals and other government establishments in Northern India, particularly UP and Bihar.
The job responsibilities here included liaisoning with sales agents, business development, procurement of orders, realisation of payments etc. The work required a constant interaction with sales agents, data mining and warehousing, new business development through agents and finding new avenues, channel development ensuring a regular order and supply chain and after sales in the form of quality checks and procurement of payments.
A considerable amount of market research was also involved to keep abreast with the changing requirements of the market and newer products brought out by competitors.
