Key Responsibilities:
• Manage PwC client accounts related to internal audit projects which includes:
- Identify the audit objectives, prepare the scope and approach, timeline, budget and select team members suitable for each project;
- Provide clients with insights of identified process design deficiencies related to control deviations and improvements; and
- Advise clients on mitigation roadmaps to assist them in becoming more controls effectiveness and risk resilient.
• Lead the External Quality Assessments by detailing conformity with the IIA standards and IPPFs, reviewing IA’s efficiency and effectiveness & recommending improvement areas, in addition to, benchmarking of internal audit activities, practices and performance metrics against relevant leading practices and other local and international companies operating in similar industry and conducting assessment of the current maturity level against the maturity model including road map for enhancement.
• Conduct SOX Compliance reviews for global clients.
• Conduct assessments of VAT Business Controls.
• Lead teams across multiple projects from planning to completion and reporting of results to management.
• Contribute in business development activities such as opportunity targeting, proposal delivery & client relationship building.
The Internal Audit reviews included assessing procedures related to the Support Services and Shop Audits for fashion stores, F&B and multimedia, where we reviewed areas such as customer service, store appearance, fund cash, POS, pricing, store safe, petty cash, security, physical inventory count, purchases, consumption, and wastage etc. I took part in Internal Audit reviews in Lebanon, UAE, Bahrain and Egypt.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct process understanding meetings with process owners to understand the area under review;
• Identify and analyse the risks and the mitigating controls;
• Design and perform comprehensive segments of audit tests which are in line with audit principles and standards; and
• Report the identified findings, risk implications and recommendations in a standard template report.
• Test controls and report on findings
• Coordinate with External Auditor in the examination of the financial statements and reports
• Review financial statements and reports
• Prepare bank reconciliation
• Perform accounting tasks for external clients on Brains and Visual Dolphin
• Examine expense and purchase accounts
• Assess accuracy of VAT declarations
• Prepare tax files to be submitted to the Ministry of Finance on quarterly basis
