• Conducts observation on work activities to cover unsafe work procedures, unsafe acts of personnel and improper use of equipment and accessories and recommends disciplinary action.
• Ensures fire-fighting equipment is in good condition and properly distributed in various strategic locations in the plant.
• Periodically conducts a physical inventory of all firefighting equipment which includes HCC housing.
• Follows-up all safety audits and monitors the status from time to time.
• Ensures workers are given adequate supply of PPE.
• Monitors regular and contractor employees to comply with all Safety Regulations.
• Prepares safety inspection reports to ensure that proper evaluation and corrective, preventive actions are put in place.
• Conducts safety orientation to all newly hired employees and contractors before they start working.
• Complies with HCC’s safety policies, rules and regulations, standard operating procedure.
• Complies with environmental and Quality System programs specific tasks as defined in the program applicable to the Area.
• Raises staff awareness and maximizes their performance though continual orientation and training on all fire and safety measures.
• Develops reviews and participates in safety training.
• Assists in presenting seminar and training programs upon the instruction of his superior.
• Performs other related duties as maybe assigned in the attainment of Departmental Objectives.
Implementation of occupational health and safety, coordination/Liaison with Lafarge Head Office in France for related matters, Implementation of Lafarge global Reporting & Investigation database and Implementation of Health & Safety Management System. Carrying out Audits & Inspections and identifying safety gaps in the system. Carrying out RCAs of accidents/incidents
Monitoring & Evaluation of Improvement Action Plans of Lafarge standards for safety implementation of different aspects like Risk Management, Energy Isolation, Contractor Management, Work at Height, Confined Space, PPEs, Road Safety, Demolition activity etc. Preparation of monthly progress reports. To execute corrective actions generates work orders in ERP; Monitoring and follow up of execution of tasks.
Preparation of Annual Budget for the department. Procurement of related equipments such as Scaffolding material, Mobile Elevated Working Plat-form, Rescue equipment for working at height and confined space, Welding safety equipments; Inventory control of Safety equipments - raising PRs in ERP, carrying out technical evaluations, before use inspections.
Preparation of training material and carrying out training on management of risks such as Energy Isolation, Work at Height, Confined space, Risk management, PPE, Conveyer Belts and on organization of tasks such as preparation of PTW and field level risk assessment.
•Establishing a generative health and safety culture within the plant through the promotion, management and maintenance of corporate, regional and BU health & safety policy, system and guidelines.
Compliance and adherence to all the applicable local laws; providing expert advice on all related health and safety issues, and contribute in achieving the plan
