Currently working with Saudi Readymix Concrete Co. Ltd in the capacity of Area Technical Manager leading the Technical department and testing laboratories at concrete batching plants (Total 9 plants) in Makkah for various construction projects including Jabal Omar Development Project, King Abdul Aziz Road Project (KAAR), Ministry of Transport (MoT) projects and many others. Job involves complete raw materials testing, design and quality control of all types of concrete such as high strength, self compacting concrete, mass concrete and others for high rise pumping, trouble4shooting and providing comprehensive technical support to the customer on concrete including concrete placement, bleed and shrinkage cracking control, specification failures and workmanship issues. Responsible for the control and management of the technical department including the laboratory. Managing mix designs to ensure cost effective use of materials. To provide technical support to sales and operations in all plants and advice on mix design information to the customers together with handling all product complaints from initial investigation to final settlement. Monitoring quality performance of suppliers and mixes performance and statistical analysis results using advanced Excel functions. Assisting the Company Technical IT function for developing Mix Design Center, Raw Material Center & Concrete Center software programs and databases for Company wide use.
Prepare Project Quality Management/Inspection & Test Plans, Inspections and formulating assessment reports for concrete and asphalt repair; Exclusive involvement in the planning, designing and production of special concrete mixes including anti washout & self compacting concrete (SCC) from the site ready-mix plant; Cost optimization of concrete mixes through laboratory trials; Conduct QA/QC audits; Selection and obtaining approvals for various construction materials including ‘Gabbro’ aggregate, special super plasticizers, mineral admixtures for use in Self-Compacting Concrete(SCC); Setting up full fledged material testing laboratories at the project site; Inspections of various quality tests viz., NDT, pull-off, tests on Self Compacting Concrete (SCC) as per European Guidelines, and other tests on fenders, GFRP formwork, steel strands, rails & accessories etc; Inspection and survey of piles for cracks and deformations and other repair sections; Repair & rehabilitation works including Injection of Epoxy Grouts to Concrete piles under water & Re-skinning concrete repair; Planning and preparation of method statements for precast concrete works, injection grouting, hydro demolition of deteriorated concrete, reskinning concrete repairs, high-build protective concrete coating systems, rail track assessments; Oversee and review material submittals and method statements submitted by the sub-contractors’ to ensure the quality requirements set on the project are met; Conduct periodic inspections at site to ensure necessary QC measures are implemented;; Resolve project specific issues relating to all offshore QA/QC activities; Facilitate proper project closeout including clearance of snag list and archiving; Preparation of operation and maintenance manual for the owner.
Responsible for product quality control, establishing & maintaining a documented Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001:2000; Preparation, issues and control of quality control system documents; Planning, scheduling and conducting internal and external inspections of quality system; Setting up material testing laboratories; Designing the concrete mixes as per the requirements of the clients; Overall responsible for calibrations, production, inspection, testing, statistical analysis and control of non conformity product; Cost analysis for different grades of concrete and optimizing the same by continual improvement through laboratory trials; Research and analysis on high volume fly-ash concrete technology (HVFAC) and implementation of the same at various RMC plants. Monitor requirements for storage and preservation of materials and equipment. Provide onsite quality training and awareness to supervisors and operators. Monitor the effective implementation of procedures in accordance with Quality Assurance Manuals and Quality Plans.
Prepare and implement Project Quality Management & Inspection/test plans for the projects; Primarily responsible for designing concrete mixes in-line with the Clients’ requirements in accordance with International Standards and implementing the same in all the ready-mix plants; Resolving all issues related to concrete quality on-site; Source identification, inspection, testing & obtaining necessary approvals from Client/Consultants for various incorporated materials; Monitor non-compliances to contract/specifications and effective closeout; Monitor compliance to project procedures by all project participants; actively involved with the assessment of the sub contractors quality policies at all stages of the work; Handling all aspects of quality management system as per ISO procedures. Organizing and conducting internal quality audits; Coordination with planning dept in submission of all relevant inspection/test records of materials for handing over of project in stages; Contributing in the weekly/monthly review meetings with the clients/consultants on QA/QC issues; Contract reviewing, document and data control, training and statistical techniques; Ensure any requirements for tools and equipment calibrations are efficiently and practically implemented; Develop project procedures when needed based on the project status.
