• Manage, expedite, and support consultants’ and contractor document submittals, budgets, and schedules
• Monitoring and Analysis of the contractor performance in scheduling, cost and budget fore-casting
• Maintain and foster contacts with consultants, contractors, vendors, and material suppliers
• Serve as an interface between the Engineering team and internal clients, including the Con-struction, Operations, Environmental, Health & Safety, to facilitate interdepartmental relations
• Ensure that the estimated Balance of Plant cost is optimized by providing accurate project layouts and bills of material takeoffs with constructability and operability needs
• Act as a subject matter expert regarding some engineering activities
• Interact closely with internal teams to ensure that project needs and objectives are met
• Monitor scope documents, exhibits, specifications, schedules, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
• Lead / participate in project meetings and conference calls
• Participate in engineering, design, and construction review processes
• Prepare / Participate value-engineering work shops for studies of alternative design
• Interpret plans, specifications, drawings, and documents related to engineering and construc-tion
• Coordinate project construction with Project Managers and Site Construction Managers to re-solve critical and time-sensitive construction-related electrical issues
• Review the FEED / EPC schedule and CTRs
• Supervise the engineering team progress and put the flawed policy in documents tracking
• Approve the validated documents to the detailed engineering phase.
• Handling conflicts occurring during project execution to minimize project risk.
• Analyze project reports and action logs to investigate unforeseen problems and deviations from project plan; in order to take the necessary preventive and corrective actions to achieve project goals.
• Report project progress and performance to management.
• Managing interfaces and conflicts during project execution to build productive work environ-ment among CB&I (main office) and Cairo office teams.
• Directs and monitors project engineers and lead engineers to ensure achieving project objec-tives.
• Provide quality and effective project management support.
• Identifying all parts and resources required for project completion.
• Processing of job documentation, including timesheets on a timely basis and ensure prompt and satisfactory job closure.
• Liaise and communicate with other company facilities and departments.
• Ensure that the technical competence of electrical personnel under supervision is matched to the work in hand
• Ensure that the work output of electrical personnel under their supervision complies with the relevant company, Client, national & international standards & procedures
• Provide technical assistance for electrical personnel as required
• Ensure as far as practically possible all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule
• Prepare engineering and construction scope for both man-hours and equipment estimates and assist in the review of proposed schedules
• Ensure that the results of any development work are fully utilized in electrical activities
• Provide technical assistance to other disciplines as required
• Provide documentation and drawing deliverables for inclusion in work packs and design books on time to meet offshore deadlines
• Produce cost effective designs that are fit for purpose and safe
• Participate as necessary in discussions with Clients and visit job sites as required
• Assist the Electrical Engineers when requested in the execution of their responsibilities and duties
• Knowledge of, compliance with and promotion of office, site and contract/project health and safety guidelines and procedures
• Comply with the company Safety Management System
• Manage the Electrical and mechanical Engineering team to ensure that all technical documentation is executed in accordance with the projects’ requirement for quality, while respecting the pre-established constraints of budget (capital and service costs) and schedule
• Control of engineering Budgets and Schedules
o Measure the progress of the discipline engineering work packages, on a monthly basis, to ensure that the budgets and schedules are being met
o Manage electrical design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
o Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives.
o Identify and review new technology development which could be applicable in providing more cost effective facilities.
o Manage and coordinate the progress of the engineering work
• Planning and Organization
o Plan and direct the mobilization and demobilization of the discipline personnel
o Prepare a list of engineering deliverables for the discipline to permit the planning and control of the engineering budget and schedule
o Prepare of man-hour estimates to perform project tasks based on tender scope Doc-uments.
o Prepare weekly progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis.
• Engineering and Operations
o Development of load lists, equipment list, equipment specification, data sheets& material requisitions.
o Technical bid evaluation, Vendor drawing review.
o Prepare all technical documentation required for the execution of the project
o Monitor the fabrication and construction work to ensure that it is executed in accordance with the engineering design
o Investigate advice and resolve complex design and field engineering problems.
• Maintain an ongoing working relationship with the other Lead Discipline Engineers, the Engineering Manager, the Client discipline representative, and with the key procurement, controls and construction team members
• Check compliance with Alliance QA/safety/environment goals.
• Manage electrical design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
• Evaluate new technology advancements against existing design standards and revise where applicable.
• Promote cost reduction and productivity enhancing initiatives.
• Prepare weekly electrical progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis.
• Inter discipline, communication development.
• Technical supervision of the project designated electrical designers and draftsmen in the exe-cution of their duty.
• Technical competence of electrical engineering personnel.
• Design calculations for electrical system such as Fault level, voltage drop, equipment sizing, lighting, earthing, cable sizing.
• Development of load lists, equipment list.
• Check compliance with Alliance QA/safety/environment goals.
• Development of electrical power distribution concepts, SLD, schematic diagrams.
• Development of electrical layouts, hazardous area classification layouts.
• Electrical protection and relay selection, setting, coordination.

• Safety - Responsible for personal safety safe working practices for the BU, etc.
• Understand and follow OH&S procedures. Identify and review new technology development which could be applicable in providing more cost effective facilities.
• Quality Assurance - Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the BU, etc .
• Liaise with other related disciplines and co-ordinate work with them.
• Preparation of design schedules and assist in preparation of design budgets.
• Review design work or studies being carried out by others.
• Assist in managing consents and approvals.
• Monitor and report progress.
• Provide support to the Construction Department and Field Engineering to resolve field changes.
• Preparation and review of P&IDs, calculations, equipment specifications, material requisitions, subcontract packages, system descriptions, design criteria documents, design change packages, and technical bid evaluations.
• Coordination of work activities with other project groups.
• Review of supplier documents and coordination with suppliers.
• Ensuring designs are consistent with project technical requirements, codes, standards, and estimates.
• Providing support to the supervisor in developing and maintaining scope, schedule, and estimate for design activities, and directing/training junior engineers.
• Explaining designs to outside agencies and clients.
• Conducting field inspections and walk downs as necessary.
• Complete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suit-able for procurement and construction purposes, utilizing CAE/CAD as applicable.
• Prepare standard engineering computations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, de-signs and reports (with supervision).
• Prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
• Performing technical bid analyses.
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
• Provide input and technical guidance to project team
• Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes and standards
• Preparation material requisition either for the main equipment or for the electrical bulk materials. This included the preparation of specifications, data sheets, supplier document requirements, minimum quality surveillances and application sheets.
• Participation in evaluation of received bids.
