Managing IT Infrastructure solution design, Capacity Planning, change management, technical writing, operations, and technical vendor’s selection. That covers the transformation of IT infrastructure towards a fully virtualized, multi-tenant environment. That also covers information life cycle management design, governance, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning. My role span to cover the design, review and approval of all ICT solutions stack from an infrastructural perspective ensuring business continuity, customer satisfaction, and service quality.
• Prepare and validate Architect design, configuration, checklist, and validation workbook
o Mitigate constraints and risks. Liaising extensively with stakeholders and Management for the projects
o Explain key aspects of technology to the team; conduct multiple sessions to achieve business goals.
o Provide agile self-servicing, streamlined end-to-end lifecycle, and scalability.
o Align ICT Infrastructure solutions with Security best practice (Hardening, up to date patches, and Innovative ideas and suggestion based on the market trend that should enhance the existing infrastructure and should be aligned with OG strategy and recommendation
• Prepare Monthly Utilization Reports for infrastructure, and take action to avoid any service outages due to capacity constraints.
Major Projects:
• Design & validate Architect Design for the IT Uplift project for the business, integrate it with the existing environment. Emerging technologies for SDDC stack using the vRealize suite, Network virtual - NSX, private cloud, and SRM for DR infrastructure covering BCP
• Design and integrate the NFV Architect upgrade procedure as per the Unify Reference model and validate it. Align with Huawei core team for the accomplished the upgrades.
• Migration of EMC Centera to EMC ECS using the ECSSync migration for CTA
• Hadoop BigData Analytics - Cloudera with CISCO UCS
• Implement of VPLEX metro cluster across the two data centers using VMware virtual environment.
• Implement/Integrated of EMC ViPR with SAN, VMware, Linux, VMAX/VNX
• Replatform - Migration of Physical servers to the virtual environment via CISCO P2V
Day to Day Operation Tasks & Upgradation of EMC Products (VMAX, DD, VG10, Centera, CTA, Networker, Brocade Fabric) and SunStorage (SL8500 Library with ACSLS, VTL)
• Administration of VMware vCenter (HA with DRS, VDS, VUM, VCOPs, PowerCLI, VCD) with Cisco UCS B-Series & FI
• Administration, Configuration & Troubleshooting of HP-Unix, Redhat, Tru64/alpha, Solaris)
• Liaison with vendors for hardware, software problems, and upgrades
Major Projects:
• Design and Deploying VMAX3, VNX, VPLEX, ViPR and Avamar for datacenter
• Deploying VMware vCloud Director with Cisco UCS for VoLTE over Cloud
• Implementation of Symmetrix VMAX Thin provision with FAST
• Implementation & Administration of VMware VCenter with CISCO UCS B-series (HA/DRS, VDS-Nexus1000v, VUM, Syslog, dump collector, Heartbeat) with EMC Symmetrix VMAX
• Up-Gradation of CISCO UCS blades with VMware vCenter and new Nexus1000v.
• Provisioning EMC Symmetrix with HP-UX, Tru64 servers and Linux
• • Implementation & Administration of EMC DataDomain 860 (Migrated from VTL) with Symantec Netbackup
Reporting to the Team Lead (support to Customer). My responsibilities:
• Deploy, Install and upgrade of Sun Systems, EMC Storages, and SAN switches.
• Administrator and troubleshoot of Solaris & Linux systems as well as EMC Storages as day-to-day activities.
• Maintained DR site for business continuity, validate failover for Billing System between the Main Site and DR. (EMC Storage Replication)
• Liaison with a vendor for any hardware and software relating issues.
• Daily monitoring routine tasks for Data Center hardware for any issue.
• Generate reports on a weekly basis for utilization.
Major Projects:
• Up-Gradation of Legato Networker server
• Up-Gradation of SAN Fabric ISL switches (firmware, Replacement & add Directors)
• Up-Gradation of EMC Symmetrix DMX-4 (Memory Board & New Disks)
• Provisioning Symmetrix DMX-4 with new Requirements and clean up the existing
• Deployment of Symmectix VMAX, DataDomain (Main with DR Sides)
• Live data migration from Symmetrix DMX-4 to VMAX
Lead 5 Engineers. My responsibilities:
• Coordinate and delegate responsibilities between the team members.
• Resource allocation, mobilization, and management for projects as per required skill-set.
• Conducting performance evaluation, assessment, and recommendation to Manager.
• Finding interviewed and inducting suitable resources in the team.
• Oversee the day-to-day functions with the customers. Technical support and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with customers and lead partners as per project needs.
• Design and validate solutions design and integrate into client environments.
• Liaison with Sun engineer for hardware & software issues with customers.
• Conduct training to clients on sun products and system administration.

• Implementation of LSF by Platform in office LAB (High-Performance Computing)

• Phase II: Integration Telenor DataCentre CRM applications with Sun ThinClient (300Agents) using VMware ESX (VCenter & Vmotion) with MS Window 2003 and MS SQL in HA environment for Lahore Branch
• Installation and Configuration of SE M5000 and StorageTek 6140 for Nexus at Telenor ISB.
• Implementation SS8 lawfull interceptors technology with Sun Sparc system at Etisalat Data Centre Dubai and Abu-Dhabi
• Phase I: Integration Telenor Call Centre CRM application with Sun ThinClient (100Agents), VMware ESX with MS XP windows
• Establish Testing & Main Data Centre using Sun Cluster with SAN 9985 and integrate MS window Environment at Warid International Uganda
• Integration IBM Storage with SFv440 Server and configure Legato Networker for L8/C2
• Install and configure SF V490 with SF V40z for TPLD (Production) Application at Telenor ISB.
• Install and configure SF V440 for FTAM at PTCL Computer Section Islamabad
Reporting to the Project Manager - Networks. Leading a skilled team of 4 support Engineers. Responsibilities include:
• Technical advice/assistance to the IT companies
• Preparing technical feasibility reports for IT companies as required by the P.M.
• Installation, configuration and commissioning of Internet services and monitoring Datacenter.
• Facilitate security incident investigation processes, review reported security incidents, and follow up corrective security measures with other IT functions.
• Management of Internet Traffic by managing routers with its analyzer tools
• Liaison with PTCL and FLAG Telecomm to keep internet services up and running.
• Planning for Data-Center expansion and up-gradation as per requirements.
• Training workshops for technical and Help desk team to train them for more and more customer care.
I.Net COMSATS provides Internet Services to Corporate and Public sector in Attock. Currently, it is operating with 4 PRI’s. The vast range of services include Internet Dial-up, E-mail, Leased Lines, Domain name, Web Site hosting. I also worked as Station In-charge with 5 Customer/Technical Support engineer over 120 online users. Responsible for:
• Installation, configuration and monitoring of Internet Setup and its relevant services like Mail, Web, Radius, DNS, Cache and Oracle on Linux/Solaris.
• Keep Attock Node network operations smooth and trouble free.
• Liaison with corporate sector and home subscriber.
• Leading a skilled team of 5 customer/Technical support Engineers.
• Prepare presentations for different meetings of higher management.
• Installation, configuration & Monitoring routers, Windows & Linux Servers.
• Planning for network expansion and up-gradation LAN as per requirement.
• Implementation of Radio Link using PCOM modems & CISCO Routers.
• Training workshops for Faculty staff and Technical Lab Assistant.
