My research endeavors focus on the design, synthesis, and characterization of advanced materials for energy and environmental applications, with a particular emphasis on electrocatalysis and heterogeneous photocatalysis. Leveraging my expertise in materials chemistry and nanotechnology, my research group aims to develop novel catalysts and photocatalysts with enhanced performance and stability for sustainable energy conversion and environmental remediation. One of the central themes of my research is the rational design of nanostructured materials with tailored compositions and architectures to optimize their catalytic properties. Through a combination of experimental synthesis techniques and advanced characterization methods, we seek to elucidate the fundamental principles governing the structure–activity relationships of catalysts and photocatalysts. A key area of interest is the development of earth-abundant and low-cost materials for catalyzing important chemical transformations, such as the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide CO2 to value-added fuels and the photocatalytic conversion of CO2 into hydrocarbons. Photothermal NH3 synthesis, water splitting, CO2 hydrogenation and H2O2 evolution. By exploring innovative synthetic approaches and understanding the underlying reaction mechanisms, we aim to address critical challenges in sustainable energy conversion and mitigate the impact of anthropogenic CO2 emissions on the environment. Additionally, my research encompasses the investigation of emerging materials and nanostructures for applications in energy storage, sensing, and environmental sensing. By exploring new materials paradigms and harnessing the unique properties of nanomaterials, we strive to develop innovative solutions to complex technological challenges and contribute to the advancement of science and technology. Overall, my research program is characterized by its interdisciplinary nature, collaborative spirit, and commitment to excellence. By fostering collaborations with academic and industrial partners and engaging in multidisciplinary research endeavors, we aim to make impactful contributions to the fields of catalysis, materials science, and sustainable energy.
