Policies and Procedures
- Assist in the development of internal work instructions, SOP’s, SABIC Standards in Safety, Security, Environment, PSM and Industrial Hygiene.
Finance and Capital Assets
- Coordinate and prepare the annual budget of the department by collecting the proposed budget plans and information from each section heads such as the manpower requirements, consumable requirements, capital projects, consultations, etc., and compile the data for review and approval by GM.
- Monitor the approved budget and ensure that the expenses are within the limit.
- Track all expenditures on a monthly basis by maintaining appropriate worksheets and to monitor the SAP electronic system to get an up-to-date status of the budget. Moreover; provide a monthly expenditure and transaction report to the Regional Manager and Section heads for their review and corrective action if any.
Purchase Requests
- Initiate Purchase Request for material requirements and major projects/ activities. Follow up the status with Global Procurement after approval from GM and closely monitor to ensure it will meet the target date of implementation.
- Enter the data in the purchase Request Master List for easy reference and recapitulation.
- On receipt of Technical Evaluation from Global Purchasing, interact with the requestor for assessment of bids/ quotation and forward it back to the buyer after approval from GM. Maintain pertinent files.
-Assists all staff from Safety, Security, Environment, Industrial Hygiene and Admin Building Security in the entire Middle East region for their requirements. Ensure all their concerns are timely and properly elevated/relayed to the Regional EHSS Manager.
-Ensure all pending Employee and Service Requests are timely approved by the regional Manager.
-Identify ways of broadening the role, better planning and organizing the work on priority basis, working proactively and utilizing the capabilities to the maximum extent to enhance the level of support given to the Regional Manager, the management and staff.
-Carry out other projects and activities assigned by the Regional EHSS Manager.
-Organize the appointments and manage all communication for the Regional EHSS Manager.
Safety:
-Assists in the revision of PSM and SHEMS Standards, Internal Work Instructions and other SABIC Standards that is to be developed.
-Design, prepare and edit upon the advice of the Safety Section Head
-Proof-read and turn over to the assigned staff for review.
-Make appropriate plans and documents for distribution of manuals to all Affiliates and Departments as advised by the management.
-Assists the Safety Advisor in the timely transmission of Audit Communication to Affiliate Management and Auditors.
-Coordinate with Affiliate EHSS Department on their SHEMS Standards.
-Tabulate the data, prepare the close out presentation and Audit final report.
-Maintain a record of audit and SHEMS Audit Manual and make required changes upon the advice if the Safety Head or Safety Advisor.
-Follow up with concerned SHEMS coordinator for the Audit action plan and quarterly closure of actions.
