Maintain a full and working knowledge of library automated system, system software
Ensure all materials are catalogued according to
Library of Congress standards. Maintain
knowledge on new cataloging standards and rules.
Train and assist staff
and record update cataloging.
Keep updated statistics and usage records. Be
responsible for assessme
nt of evaluation of
library standards and services.
Check requests for book orders and searches for
bibliographic information prior to purchasing.
Review materials for
possible acquisition and
maintain updated knowledge of review sources and new publications. Review online
databases and new materials for acquisition.
Manage new books and weekly/monthly displays
and bulletin boards. Supervise weeding of
outdated materials and inventory.
Aid in charging, discharging, or
renewing of library materials;
shelve all books and other
materials; monitor shelving done by staff. Oversee collection of fine s, replacement of lost library materials, and donation
s of new library materials
Teach information literacy and research classe
s as well as maintain current knowledge and
practices regarding information literacy required
Maintain open membership and communication with
professional organizations
the success and advancement of serv
ices provided in the library.
Assist with Library progra
ms and events as needed.
Create or approve payroll work authorizations for staff.
