Role Purpose: Act as a focal point in District for all matters related to Project activities including but not limited to making close coordination with local implementation partners(IPs) and provide technical support for effective implementation of MNCH Services project community mobilization activities in LHW covered and uncovered areas
Key Responsibilities:
Liaison with stakeholders at district level and coordination for the MNCH Services project activities
Prepare monthly /quarterly work plan for community mobilization activities of district
Ensure the implementation of work plan activities under MNCH services project in target Districts
Provide technical support to LHW program in organizing trainings on SG methodology
Provide support to LHWs/local NGO in identification and training Male & female community volunteers
Coordinate meetings with local NGO/s for smooth implementation of MNCH Services project activities
Support LHW program in monitoring of male & female Support group meetings in LHW’s covered and share feedback report at all level
Monitoring of male & female Support group meetings uncovered areas and share feedback report at all level
Arrange MNCH related trainings at District/ facility level in appropriate approach
Provide technical support in ensure the quality of PDQ implementation and formation of QITs
Monitor the implementation on action plan prepared by QIT and participate in monthly meetings of QIT
Prepare and share regular progress reports and other project reports
Provide technical guidance & support to the partners and IP field staff on Community Mobilization activities during project implementation
Participate in DC NP monthly meeting to develop close coordination and ensure SG meetings
To identify/ mapping drivers to develop transportation mechanism for effective referral mechanism
Conduct monitoring trips to the project sites, including random monitoring check on Implementing Partner’s (IPs) activities and progress using standard monitoring tools
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Assist in developing the Behavior Change Communication (BCC) frame work in close collaboration with Project Medical Coordinator (PMC), National BCC Coordinator, and the project team
Implementation projects activities related to BCC
Assist the National BCC Coordinator in adapting and developing information, education, and communication (IEC) materials for health and Nutrition related BCC activities
Adapt and develop the training packages in close collaboration with National BCC Coordinator
Arranging and conducting training for Health and Nutrition related activities in line with the agreed curriculum
Conduct trainings of the communities in health, nutrition and hygiene promotion and the implementation of different techniques & activities in selected communities as per projects objectives
Train project staff on the use of IEC material and health or nutrition education methodologies
Participate in community based surveys (Qualitative & Quantitative)
Organize health and nutrition related activities through the network of health promoters or LHWs
Establish or reactive community based structures such as community health committees or breast feeding Support Groups and link them up with the health facilities including regular meetings among the community health clubs (CHC) and health and nutrition staff
Serve as first point f contact with the communities and implement greater accountability to the beneficiaries and communities
Collate all the data regarding to health promotion activities and assist in preparing periodic reports both internal and external
Supervise and promote the utilization of services available at nearby health facilities by monitoring and supporting the activities of the health promoters
Monitoring Health related promotion activities provided by the Medical and Para-medical staff
Key Responsibilities:
Design, Implementation and monitoring of WASH activities that are appropriate to specific sectors of the Community e.g. children, youth, women and men
Train and manage Field Officers, Motivators and PRCS volunteers on Health, Nutrition and Hygiene promotion
Plan and manage Hygiene Promotion/Health Promotion Budget and control/authorize expenditures
Manage day to day logistics, administration, and personnel activities (Including any local, contracted personnel/daily labor) in accordance with national law and organizational guidelines
Ensure that Hygiene Promotion/Health Promotion activities are in Line with relevant standards, codes of conduct and humanitarian principles
Mobilization of the disaster affected communities as appropriate for participation in planning, construction, operation and maintenance of WASH facilities and services, ensure medical camps in communities by support of medic & paramedic staff
Use participatory approaches as a far as possible throughout the program cycle in training and in the use of tool kits and other materials
Ensure that gender, protection, the environment and other important cross-cutting concerns are taken in to account in program design, implementation and reporting. Ensure that activities reflect the needs of specific groups and individuals e.g. elderly people, children, people with disabilities
Ensure that Hygiene Promotion activities and resources are implemented and handed over or ended in a way that promotes local capacities and sustainable operations
Responsibilities
To monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the project.
Identify the Health, Hygiene & Nutrition Promotion and awareness needs in the community, especially where CARE has identified the interventions, plan various stages of project implementations
Assist in the screening of children with MUAC for the OTP/SFP Program
Monitoring all Nutrition activities in the District and make sure timely supplies to the CMAM facilities
Develop following IEC material in Sindhi Language
1 Nutrition, Breast Feeding, Antenatal & Postnatal checkups
2 Diarrhea and ORS making
3 Malaria and Prevention from Malaria
4 Vaccination
5 Hepatitis B & C, communicable and water born diseases
Assist program staff to use appropriate project management tools to plan, review and track progress on project implementation as well as on the utilization of project resources.
Develop performance indicators to increase emphasis on quantification and targets.
Monitor program implementation to assess the relevance, feasibility and local impact.
The position works in close liaison with the CARE partners engaged for implementation of the Health and Hygiene promotion activities.
The position shall impart health and hygiene related trainings to the communities, school-going and other children, other social groups in the area.
Support the social mobilization efforts in the communities where CARE Health interventions are planned.
The position will have to follow up and conduct monitoring of the health and hygiene related activities of CARE and its partners with proper documentation.
Coordinate with concerned provincial government departments, DCO offices, national and international organizations implementing early recovery activities in the area
Identify new ways of successful communication for the community based on the indigenous sensitivities, opportunities and potential outreach in the district
Provide technical guidance to partners and field staff on the development of beneficiary accountability, plans and mechanisms and monitor the integration of these activities in project implementation
Assist with the management and supervision of field data collection processes for monitoring and evaluation, backstopping the field office staff when necessary
Conduct monitoring trips to the project sites, including random monitoring check on Implementing Partners (IPs) activities and progress using standard monitoring tools
Guide field office staff and implementing partners (IPs) on project related survey and project reporting as per contract arrangements in place
Coordinate in the development, implementation and monitoring of community mobilization activities in the district as per approved work plan such as sensitization activities, support groups and LHW trainings designing, developing, implementing and monitoring of community mobilization strategy/activities in the district
Documentation and dissemination of reports regarding community mobilization and other program activities
Monitor and assess progress of the program activities & interventions in terms of process, impact and outcome indicators
Preparation and compilation of Annual & Quarterly reports.
To monitor Health committees and spot checking
Assist District coordinator in up-dating the district profile on annual basis with focus on Integrated MNCH services at both public & private sector by category such as EPI, Under 5 clinics, IMNCI strategy, Essential Obstetric care, ANC, PNC, functional labor room
Identifying yearly Integrated MNCH service delivery targets and developing long term and short term plans accordingly
Coordinate MNCH interventions at the district level in close collaboration with Health, Population, Education and Community Development
To assist District Training coordinator in arranging & designing Trainings and workshops on IMNCI and MNCH
To arrange local & Mega events on community mobilization for the awareness about Maternal & neonatal Health care
To work with Partnership Defined Quality(PDQ) process for further implementation & sustainable the program
To arrange monthly consortium partners & sub grantees meeting for sustainability of the program and meetings with Health Department
