Having the ultimate responsibility for the overall operation of the hotel. Also in charge of delivering results, exceed guest satisfaction & financial performance objectives. ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER
Heading the pre-opening project of a premium four star full services business hotel with 92 rooms and suites, four Food and Beverage outlets, a Bar and state of the art conference and banqueting facilities in the heart of the city of Coimbatore, India.
Scope of Work: Reporting to the Managing Director and the COO with regards to the financial, design and operational aspects of the Hotel project.
Some of my other key responsibilities include and are not limited to planning the services and layout of the hotel in terms of operational and functional aspects, manage all financial, budgetary and P&L responsibilities, Recruitment of the Core Management Team and establish the pre-opening and marketing budget.
• Develop a recruitment and training strategy, as well as talent development and succession planning.
• Develop all Hotel Departmental Operating Management Manuals.
• Align operational objectives with core direction and strategy of Group brands and business.
• Create a positive work environment in line with company’s values, vision and mission to produce a dynamic, driven, motivated and results-orientated workforce.
• Develop Hotel Internal Audit System.
• Manage all financial, budgetary and P&L responsibilities through effective forecasting and contingency planning to maximize revenue and shareholder returns.
• Develop all Hotel standard operating manuals.
• Prepare a Hotel feasibility study and a Hotel Development Modeling.
Ensure excellence and a unique visit for each guest at this exclusive Designer boutique property, targeted at the upscale and demanding travelers. Manage operations, ensure that the S.O.P.s is followed and maintain facilities. Administer operating and capital budgets and manage strategic operations of the Hotel to ensure profitability and return on owner investment. Promote the venue as a premier food and beverage destination. Build the brand through dynamic marketing plans and execution.
Played an active role during the planning and construction of the Restaurant - Bar -Club with a seating of 156 covers. Ensuring that all the deadlines are met on time to reduce delays and thereby maintaining cost within budgeted figures.
Establishing Systems and operational flowcharts for a smooth operation.
Pre-opening responsibilities such as Menu planning with the Chef and bar and wine lists keeping in mind the local tastes and interests.
Staff recruitment and pre-opening training and Briefings.
Significant contribution in enhancing revenues by revamping the menu and implementing cost awareness and providing regular training to staff in compliance with the organizational policies. Distinction of commissioning the revamped Bar, formulated the standards and formulating the work flow for the new outlet with the food & beverage Manager.
Instrumental in augmenting profits by 23% by increasing sale and cost efficiency in 6 months. Pivotal role in the commissioning of theme restaurants in the film city complex, complete with individual Kitchens and Stores.Distinction of working with the General Manager in setting up the policies, goals and work flow of the new outlets. Successfully handled the launch and promotional activity and special events.
