The company is a member of Naouri Group that is one of the biggest logistics groups in Jordan. The company represents the shipping line OOCL and the global supply chain operator GEODIS.
Main Responsibilities:
- Managing the activities of the line OOCL in Jordan.
- Managing the forwarding activities of the company including the agency of the global supply chain operator GEODIS.
Achievements so far:
- Established the agency of the line OOCL in Jordan.
- Streamlined the forwarding activities including the representation of GEODIS.
- Improvement of the company's systems.
- Automation of the company's shipping and forwarding activities.
Reporting to GM and Group COO - FMCG Business
• Supervising a professional team that is responsible for all Logistics and Documentation operations of company's containerized shipments from the different origins in Far East, Europe and Turkey to the different destinations in Middle East and West Africa
• Negotiating best freight rates, services, POD detention, and credit terms with shipping agents. (Shipping Lines and Forwarders).
• Monitoring shipping market and keeping Trading Departments updated with all shipping news that may affect their future shipments.
• Following up shipment operations, and liaising with all concerned parties (supplier, shipping agent, forwarder, trader) to ensure smooth loading of shipment from POL.
• Tracking of all shipments from the time of booking until arrival at destination; to ensure that shipments are not delayed or rolled over at transshipment ports.
• Personally developed a shipping system (using Microsoft Access 2013) that became the most important tool, to achieve the timely tracking of shipments, and to maintain error-free working procedures of all shipments.
• Responsible for interviewing and training of Department's team.
• Keeping open channels with shipping agents and monitoring shipping news in order to adopt the most cost effective shipping plans.
• Streamlining the operation, invoicing and payment procedures with shipping agents.
• Setting, maintaining and improving of department’s procedures.
• Evaluating performance of shipping lines to ensure that shipments are booked with lines that offers reliable service.
• Supervising the issuance and dispatch of shipments’ documents.
• Tackling operations and documentation issues of shipments.
• Approval of freight and documentation invoices for payment.

4- Tracking all shipments from loading port and in transit till arrival at final destination; exerting all possible efforts to avoid loading delays at transshipment ports in order to maintain the original schedule given by shipping line and forwarded to our customer.
5- Personally developed a shipping system (using Access 2010) that became the most important tool, to achieve the timely tracking of shipments, and to maintain error-free working procedures of Logistics Department.
6- Responsible for interviewing and training Logistics team.
7- Keeping open channels with shipping agents and monitoring shipping news in order to adopt the most cost effective shipping plans.
8- Streamlining the operation, invoicing and payment procedures with shipping agents.
I have established the Freight Forwarding Devision for the first time in the company's history, and accordingly I was responsible for the following:
1- Creating the procedures and activities of the different departments.
2- Organize the relation between the different departments.
3- Phrasing "Cooperation Agreements" with other forwarders.
4- Appointing of Forwarding Agents needed during my working period in the company.
5- Guiding and supervising Sales Manager and Sales Staff.
Promotiion of Company's services to customers in Jordan and Middle East.
I have made a comprehensive study to start "Container Liner Service" from Far East ports to Red Sea ports, however the company could not approve the study due to the large amount of money to be invested compared with the revenue expected to be earned.
- Appointing of Agents.
- Monitoring and evaluating the performance of Agents.
- Phrasing of Agreements with Agents, depots and Ports.
- Approving vessels PDA’s and D/A’s that are received from
agents.
- Concluding bunker purchase deals with suppliers.
- Monitoring and scrutinizing of vessel’s performance and
bunker consumption against Charter Party.
- Planning of vessels Sailing Schedules and routing.
- Following up of vessels operations at the ports.
- Coordinating with vessels’ Masters and Central Planner the
stowage plans of loading ports.
- Monitoring of Containers fleet in terms of demand and
surplus locations, and coordinating with marketing for
proper solutions.
Managing the following:

b- Marketing and customers’ services.
c- LCL & Groupage shipments.
d- Cross booking shipments

f- Packing & storing of Airfreight shipments.

a- Manifest procedures (import & export)

f- Vessels disbursements.
Performing and monitoring the following:-
1- Promotion, marketing and customers’ service.
2- Documentation procedures.
3- Export procedures and correspondence.
Supervising the proper accomplishment of the following:-
1- Manifest procedures for import cargo.
2- Procedures of shipments delivery to customers.
3- Container control procedures.
1- Promoting company's activities.
2- Contacting customers and follow up their shipments
3- Sending Sales leads to agents.
4- Follow up bookings with shipping lines.
5- Shipment tracing.
6- Documentation.
• Supervising the duties of department and responsible for
on time faultless accomplishment of these duties.
• Coordination with the computer department regarding the
updating and modifications on the container control and
export applications.
• Evaluation of the employee’s performance and submitting
evaluation reports to the Assistant Shipping Manager semi
annually.
• Updating the shipping lines with the container movements
by sending the different type of container reports according
to the requirement of each shipping line.
• The correspondence that related to container matters.
• Monitoring the overdue containers.
• Providing the ports and customs authorities with all the
documentation related to the imported and exported
containers.
• Coordination with the shipper representative at Aqaba
regarding their exported shipments.
• Reviewing of export documents presented by shippers.
• Issuance of Manifests and Bills of Lading for the exported
containers.
• Coordination with the operation department at the container
terminal for stowage and bay plans preparation.
• Issuing (Storage Fees Of Empty Containers) report that
reflects the storage and quay dues incurred on the empty
loaded containers on each vessel according to the port tariff.
