A very significant aspect, and a most rewarding role as well, must surely be the fact that during the last few months I have had the chance to actually teach students from Saudi Arabia for the first time in my career. Working together with a team of teachers with experience in the Saudi program, I planned, delivered, monitored and reported on the work done in class with two groups of Saudi nationals that included both professionals and university students.
Taught general and E.S.P. English to individuals and groups of up to twenty students. Worked with professionals and young learners preparing for a variety of standard tests such as PET, FCE, TOEIC, TOEFL and others. Used a wide range of course books, multimedia and online resources.
General and E.S.P. English lessons to individuals and groups, companies and professionals such as doctors, journalists, lawyers
business executives and civil servants. Simultaneously, free-lance translator for Collier-Macmillan and others.
General and E.S.P. business English.
General E.F.L. and E.S.P. business English. Additionally, part-time teacher of Spanish as a foreign language to American, European and Japanese business executives.
A four-week intensive course that proved to be extremely challenging and rewarding at the same time, all the more so given the fact that there were only two Spanish candidates out of a total of thirty - the other teachers coming from far afield coutries such as Britain, Ireland, the U.S. and Australia. That was quite an honor, as far as I am concerned.
Full-time studies at the undergraduate as well as the graduate levels with emphasis on three major areas: linguistics, British and American literature and literary criticism. Similarly, I took a number of courses in French grammar and poetry. Full tuition waiver scholarship awarded by the Foreign Students Department and held for the duration of my studies at E.I.U. Likewise, I received an Affirmative Action Summer Internship for two consecutive years working at Booth Library, where I would eventually be offered a position as Technical Assistant I and promoted to Library Technical Assistant II.
All previous education in Spain: Primary School, Secondary School and Preuniversitario.
