Develop, maintain, enforce and update Safety Management System, including policy, procedures and manuals.
Promote Health and Safety within the organization and develop safer and healthier conduct of working.
Initiate programs to remove the potential hazards from the work place, take proper corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure availability and accessibility of Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment for all the operation and update frequently.
Examine equipment to make sure they meet safety regulations for receiving the safety pass from the KJO officials.
Perform daily walk-through safety inspections of the facilities including fire systems and equipments.
Enforce that Personal Protective Equipments are being used in workplaces according to PPE Matrix.
Ensure availability of personal protective equipment at all the time and maintain good inventory.
Implement and ensure that materials are stacked, stored correctly in designated area.
Identify and evaluate work areas for potential accident and health hazards and implement appropriate control measures
Investigation of accidents and unsafe working conditions, study possible causes and recommend remedial action to the management.
Communicate frequently with management to report on the status of the health and safety program
Compliance on submission of Monthly Safety Performance Reports to the Custodian Department.
Communicate Emergency Response Plan and conduct mock drill at regular intervals.
Perform site audit, PPE audit, Equipment audit and maintain the records.
Conduct Weekly On site Tool Box Talk to the employees.
Carry out regular training sessions to the employees as scheduled on training calendar and training matrix.
Inspection of lifting tools and tackles like wire rope slings, bow shackle, D shackle, spreader bar, webbing slings, chain blocks, lashing belts etc prior to the work.
Inspection of H2S gas monitors and ensures its valid calibration date.
Ensure availability of valid Third Party Certificates for operators, riggers, lifting tools and tackles, equipments and follow up of tracking sheet for timely updating.
Follow up of safety passing of the equipments and maintain their valid dates.
Maintain records of Work Permit, Waste Manifest, PPE register, PPE audit, Equipment and Operator Third Party certificates, Equipment audit, safety committee meeting, site audit, fire extinguishers and fire hydrants, audit NC, etc.
Active participation in the monthly meeting, training conducted by the KNPC/KJO employees.
Ensure all the employees undertake medical examination periodically to meet safety standards.
Follow up of preventive maintenance schedules.
Follow up of maintenance work of the equipments and get it ready on time.
Maintain and document the proper inventory of spare parts for the equipments.
Follow up of breakdown of equipment and ensure that the equipments are ready without effecting the smooth functioning of operation.
Allocation of manpower for different jobs-right person for the right job.
