• Develop a program that outlines specific measures to be taken to prevent injuries and losses that threaten the health, well being or livelihood of employees or the company and protect against foreseeable hazards resulting from operations.
• In-Charge of entire shipside operations
• Provide assistance across department lines to other divisions on an as needed basis in executing safety assurance programs to the fulfillment of company objective to safe guard assets and human resources.
• Educate and motivate employees to take an active part in Company development programs
• Serve as the point of contact between company and outside affaires that relates to shipside operations.
• Acting in the capacity of berthing Supervisor in coordination with Captain/Pilot
• In absence of duty Manager, act in the capacity of duty Manager
• Enforce/implement ports safety regulations in the terminal.
• Overall responsibility of vessel loading/Off-loading operations
• Prepare and submit relevant port logs and reports to higher Management.
• Investigate the nature and cause of accidents accruing during operations.
• Close monitoring on Stevedores, Senior Documentation team and Operator foreman.
• Conduct pre meeting with master of the vessel on operations sequences and safety procedures upon arrival.
• Advice/ Suggest the short falls if any to the higher Management for remedial action.
• Attend and discuss daily operations meeting with other Operations Managers for easy enforcement.
• Control on shipside manpower and granting vacations and other employees requirements.
• Keeping close watch on the weather forecast for appropriate instructions to be delivered to the terminal staff concern to safety precautions.
• Attending safety meetings with Safety Officers in order to facilitate strict enforcement of safety rules and regulations.
