Engaged initially for Sheikh Khalifa Medical Centre only (260 bed acute care hospital) after 3
months on site I was informed that SKMC facilities department would, as of the 1

of January
2005 be responsible for the facilities maintenance and renovations project program for the Abu
Dhabi Health Authorities entire healthcare operation on Abu Dhabi Island. Therefore I had to
expand my operation to encompass 4 additional hospitals, 12 primary healthcare clinics, a dental
center, a nursing school and a school of health facility. Responsible for the effective monitoring of
the maintenance contractor’s progress and performance to ensure that an appropriate technical
and economic program of preventive and breakdown maintenance is provided as specified within
the scope of service. Manger the daily works and routines of the SKMC facilities management
personnel and ensure the department is providing an optimum standard service to its client.
Participate in performance and skill assessment of permanent and contracted staff. Act as an
agent of SKMC in technical and commercial matters when dealing directly with the Health
Authority and consultants. Assume technical responsibility for the design and subsequent
implementation of all renovations and project works, including plan reviews, value engineering,
preparing scope of work documents, contract review, buyout, and production through
management of field staff and interaction with all employees and departments. Resolve
contractors performance disputes, variations and claims in a timely manner to ensure project
deliverance deadlines. Participate as professional representative in development and design of
health care facilities in conjunction with engineering consultants. Management of significant

operation complexes in Beijing China.

During my contract with Johnson Controls I was promoted to project manager for the REMIX
project, which was the technical name for the King Fahad Medical City Project in Riyadh. This
project was the largest hospital complex within the Middle East consisting of seven hospital
buildings and associated staff housing with recreational facilities. Initially designed to utilize the
Johnson’s Galaxy BMS, (which was developed from a process control system) I was responsible
for the redesign of the complete project to accommodate the latest Johnson BMS product known
as METASIS. This new system was state of the art at the time and varied to its predecessor by
mainly placing the intelligence back into the field locally rather than the head end.
Application and design of heating, air conditioning, industrial process controls and computerized
building management systems. Production of quotations system configuration diagrams and
engineering of projects post sales. Supporting field engineers and assisting with customer
requirements. Compilation of bills of quantity, procurement of field equipment's, devices both
hardware and software. Dealing primarily with consultants and system specialists. Co-ordination
and scheduling of preventative maintenance programs, (utilizing JCII Commando system) and

Responsible for the testing and commissioning of electronic DDC and pneumatic HVAC control
systems on various sites inconjuction with BMS systems. Verification of system drawings and co-

participate in JCII training course and assist with design co-ordination of a major defense contract

Responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of the electrical utilities department at
Riyadh Military Air Base. Included were the basic organizational building blocks of operational,
capital replacement and strategic budgets, accountability and control systems, common
operational policies and procedures to ISO 9000. Duties were expanded after six months to
include Thamamah Air Base and all associated navigational aid sites for both airfields.
The main contract consisted of upgrading/refurbishment and expanding of the existing
communication network for Kuwait City Kuwait. Responsible for the installation, commissioning
and final transfer of complete cabinet areas to new and existing trunk networks. This included the
use of fiber optic, air space and jelly filled cabling from 4 to 600 pairs installed either by means of
direct burial or underground ductwork system. Commissioning of DP’s and cabinets in the field,
jumpering of MDF’s in the local exchange including switched services as well as telex and data
circuits. Performed integration and acceptance of networks before final handover. During my
tenure I assisted the planning department with surveying and redesigning of areas necessitated
by the construction of new buildings.
Responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of the electrical and communications
departments at King Abdul Aziz International Airport Jeddah. During this contract I was seconded
to the planning department to assist in the initiation of building maintenance and preventative
maintenance procedures and programs. I was primarily responsible for the compilation of work
procedures within the building maintenance department for all electrical and communications
preventative maintenance programs.

complete electrical systems at Garawa International Airport Cameron's. Visual aids system,
(airfield lighting) HF, UHF, and VHF transmitter and receiver sites including erection of wide band
dipole, conifan and log periodic antennae. Current regulation stations, prime, standby and no
break power generation, CCTV, CATV. FIDS, baggage conveyor systems, x-ray and metal
detection systems and building management system.

engineering division of engineering services I was subsequently promoted to the position of
acting director of this department. My responsibilities as director are for development, financial
management, co-ordination and implementation of all construction projects undertaken by the
project engineering division. Projects with a value of SR. 1 million or less were usually assigned
to the in-house construction services department. Projects of a higher value were subcontracted
to outside construction companies. The department consists of a full design team with one
engineer for each discipline and is backed up by a fully staffed drafting office with two architects
and a quantity surveyor. Individually I was responsible for the production of design, construction
and shop drawings. Compilation of technical specifications, testing and commissioning
documentation, technical evaluations and full project management. This being for all electrical
services or systems for any approved project all in accordance with the relevant local and
international standards, regulations and codes of practice. For all in-house and subcontracted
projects my department is responsible for the full site management in a consultancy role to
ensure that all installations are carried out to the highest possible standards.
Major projects included the largest ICU in the Middle East, PICU, A&E unit, LT/CCU, OR
renovation, MRI & Primary Care Clinic.
