• Formulate basic layout design or presentation approach, and specify material details, such as style and size of type, photographs, graphics.
• Manage own accounts and projects, working within budget and scheduling requirements.
• Confer with clients to determine objectives, budget, background information, and presentation approaches, styles, and techniques.
• Confer with creative, art, copy-writing, or production department heads to discuss client requirements and presentation concepts, and to coordinate creative activities.
• Present final layouts to clients for approval.
• Direct the creative product and strive for excellence in everything from conception to completion of every project on schedule.
• Work closely with head of marketing to solve marketing problems through smart, well-designed advertising and collateral materials that help sell product, and maintain good image for clients and agency.
• Manage the Creative/Production Department (ADs, Copywriters, Production Artists, etc.).
• Attend creative input meetings to develop creative strategies and implement all creative requirements including copy, layout, illustrations, final art and photography.
• Confirm client review and delivery schedules, and assign jobs to creative team.
• Oversee creative solutions and present these for internal approval at a date determined in the initial creative input meeting.
