Work description:
- To work in an outpatient clinic with focus on patients with hearing loss (children and adults)
- To perform or assist in Otologic surgeries in children and adults (I am able to assist in the most ear surgeries and perform by myself next surgeries: myringotomy, PET surgery, intratympanic therapy of Meniere's disease, tinnitus, ect)
- To provide comprehensive solutions for patients with hearing loss along with a competent cochlear implant team (I have an 15 years experience in CI team of University clinical center team for cochlear implantation- near 60 CI were performed at our clinic; big experience in work with hearing aids)
- To audit the work of the clinic
- To present papers and clinical data in conferences and workshops (Until now, I already presented more then 20 papers on International Conferences and Congresses- mostly in Europe; I was organizer of International workshops at our clinic- ten years of continuous organization)
- Consultant/doctor (during my 30 years clinical work, I have been consultant in many hard multidisciplinary clinical cases)
Target of my PhD thesis was use of EEG in diagnosis of patients with vertigo. I published article from my thesis (Eur Arch Otorhinolaryngol. 2002 Jul;259(6):334-8. Epub 2002 May 8. "The effects of caloric vestibular stimulation on EEGs in patients with central vertigo."Brkić F, Gortan D, Kapidzić A, Sinanović O, Brkić S. I published two books about hearing aids (in Bosnian language), and one students textbook ("Audiology"). I have now status of University Professof of Otorhinolaryngology (University of Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegowina, www.untz.ba)
