I have been confirmed as a member of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration. The Center handles disputes particularly in Construction and Oil & Gas industries.
Since my retirement in April, I advice in the procurement of goods and services within Saudi Arabia and the GCC region. I also attend, as board member and speaker, at conferences and events in fields of contracts, purchasing and supply chain management in the Region.

I managed the Contracts Section, consisting of a team of 6. We procure services and materials through contracts, commencing with the planning stage through final contract completion, including pre-qualification of contractors, both local and international, competitive bidding, drafting and negotiation of terms & conditions and finalization. We coordinate with the Material Control Group to meet the Refinery's material, equipment and spare parts requirements. We ensure that contracts and blanket orders established are in accordance with Company's applicable policies and procedures. We ensure that the contracts are the best value, based on total cost for the life-cycle of the project. I encourage well-established contractors/vendors to establish strategic alliance with SAMREF. I manage training and recruiting of new personnel in contracts and purchasing sections. In particular issuance of contract requests, drafting of terms & conditions and scopes of work. We managed Refinery turnaround projects and also new expansion projects with international EPC offices.

Also, learned line of balance method to find total project duration. I had good grasp of software used in project scheduling, e.g. MS Project, Primavera P6, and other specialized packages. I learned about risk mitigation and new Lean Scheduling. I received a final score of 93% for the two months long course.
