I was working as an in-sourced resource for GfK Cogenta, which is a UK-based company that provides pricing intelligence of products sold online to its customers. We use a proprietary software platform that uses data crawled from the web to gather price listings of products sold on different websites online and associate them to one another so that our customers can see at what price their competitors are selling a particular product. This data is also used by our parent company GfK for market research of online consumer trends.
My work involved browsing the web to find technical data on products sold online and processing said data into a proprietary software platform that presents the data in a user-friendly format and delivers this refined data to our clients. This enables and empowers our client's ecommerce business by helping our clients to successfully sell products online through powerful product content. Our clients' customers are able to make more informed purchases based on the data we provide to our clients.
Dissertation: “An Analysis of the Use of Real Options Valuation for the Appraisal of New Investments and Strategies in a ‘Lower for Longer' Oil Price Scenario” Modules studied provided comprehensive instruction in the business and economic aspects of the global oil and gas industry, including valuation of projects, investments and strategies and market fundamentals.
