• Responsible for overseeing the day to day activities in the hostel to ensure a safe and congenial living, learning community, with a strong focus on students' education and personal development.
• Oversees the living, teaching community to which they are assigned to ensure that students are provided with a friendly, homely environment that also encourages personal development and study.
• Allocates rooms to students in accordance with students' requests and Housing policies, and assists in the development of a healthy, happy community.
• Helps students adjust to the hostel and university environment and provide attractive, informative programs.
• Organizes activities that meet the needs and wishes of students, as far as is reasonable.

• Carry out some operational and administrative work in relation to maintenance, reports, advertisements, and correspondents of the assigned students’ residential hall.

• Work closely with students to build within each one of them a sense of personal worth and self- confidence, to improve interpersonal effectiveness, to increase the ability to learn from new situations, to clarify values, and to develop a personal code of ethics.
• Educating resident students of their rights and responsibilities as stated in the Students’ handbook.
