Main Responsibilities
• Collection, compilation, data management, processing and interpretation of geological data from inhouse and third-party exploration programs.
• Analyze and interpret the mineral potential of various company exploration properties and third-party proposals to define opportunities, both brownfield and Greenfield.
• Optimization of drillhole targeting for resource definition according to internationally recognized procedures using standard industry software packages.
• Detailed interpretation, analysis and continuous improvement in understanding controls on mineralization at our various existing deposit across the African continent.
• Execution of Quality Assurance/ Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures in core, mine pit, stream channel or outcrop sampling, processing and packaging for chemical analysis.
• Trained and proficient in the use of Olympus Handheld Analyser for the purpose of carrying out rapid chemical analysis of rock samples in our various/remote greenfield projects.
• Creation of 2D and/or 3D geological and mineralization models for deposits.
• Statistical and geostatistical analyses of geological data and the determination of the most appropriate grade and density interpolation methods.
• Classification and reporting of gold, coal, limestone, marble, phosphate, iron ore, and bitumen resources using industry software packages on our greenfield and brownfield projects according to accepted and internationally recognized guidelines.
• Ensured the smooth running of milling operations for the company's progress, by ensuring the required quality and quantity of milled products were available for loading.
• Prepared and delivered a lecture every month titled 'Work hazards and safety precaution, creating a safe work environment' to casual workers on the Jakura Marble Industries Ltd. Factory site at Obajana, Kogi State, Nigeria.
• Extensively mapped the Igarra Schist belt, Nigeria and outlined its marble resources for acquisition.
• Prepared vertical structure sections and used same to predict the inferred resources and target horizons before drilling activities. The model was found to be correct.
• Equally produced topographic and geological maps of our various lease areas using data SRTM data downloaded from the USGS archive and Google Imagery in Global Mapper and AutoCad software. This was before the proper survey with DGPS.
• Onsite project management of RC and Diamond drilling programs, logging of cores and structural/petrologic interpretation of same.
• Sample preparation for chemical analysis of major oxides and interpretation of results for suitability in the production of Portland cement.
• Periodically compiles reports of exploration geology as well as technical reports to government agencies for lease application, renewals and conversion.
