My Role as Senior Credit Manager is to assess Credit Applications for new as well as existing clients. Assess loans in excess of R25 million with a limit of R500 million. Ensuring quality credit assessments are achieved and standards are constantly improved. Ensuring compliance with Nedbank Credit Policies and internal controls.
Develop and refine internal policies and controls to ensure they remain robust. Perform business and team self assessments for audit and regulatory purposes. Develop business risk appetite in line with market standards, economic forecasts and the business growth targets. Assist in the development of various application and financial models to improve risk (PD, LGD, EAD, Basel 2/3 and cash flow simulation models). Prevention and cure of defaulted loans. Compile divisional credit committee and Executive Credit Committee quarterly packs.
Provide advice on funding structures that offers tax solutions to clients as well as the bank. These include (BEE Funding, Leveraged/Structured Finance, Property Development Finance, Management & Leverage buyouts as well as Equity Secured Lending)
Standard Chartered Bank is a global banking institutions whose focus is predominantly Emerging Markets. They are a diversified bank with core focus being Personal/Consumer banking as well as Corporate & Wholesale banking.
My role at Standard Chartered bank was to formulate credit policy through market research and Standard Chartered Bank Credit guidelines. Perform market research and internal research for policy development in the South African context. Present policies for approval to Standard Chartered Credit Regulatory Committee. Assist in the development of banking product and strategies for the following products (Credit Cards, Mortgages, Personal Loans, Auto Finance). System and application together with external vendors.
Ensuring that the best possible risk management methodologies are applied to ensure quality credit assessments are performed according to the highest standards.
Ensuring the all credit officials complied with these policies by doing audits across the product segments and reporting back to the Head of Credit and Risk for Africa.
Absa Bank is the largest bank by assets in South Africa. It major shareholder is Barclays PLC. Absa is a diversified bank and offers a large range products and services from Personal/Consumer Banking to Corporate /Investment Banking.
My role as a Business Development Manager at Absa Bank was to establish, maintain and grow the Personal/Cosumer banking segment within the Western Cape.
Growing both Assets & Liabilities of the Bank ensuring the division as well as the region achieved it's profitability and sales targets.
Deal structuring to meet the needs of the client and reviewing the entire portfolio to ensure that utilization of facilities were optimal maximizing return on equity to the bank.
