• Under my leadership I controlled 11 operators and 15 assistant operators, a total of 11 machines.
• The running of day to day production activities, making sure that production runs smoothly and its capacity in order to achieve our targets.
• Planned the machines (Extruders) according to backlog, critical and customer demands.
• Checking and controlling of operators on the production floor and disciplines are met and
taken care off, according to company’s procedures.
• Made sure that machines are running to specifications.
• Worked towards achieving daily and shift targets.
• Worked towards limiting scrap.
• Liaised with Planning for programs, urgencies and control Data sheets (Master Ticket).
• Worked within the safety standards and housekeeping is kept at all times.
• Held weekly meeting with team members (operators), discussed targets, quality, updating graphs and handling HR enquires.
• Counseled and disciplined according to company policies and procedures.
• Diagnosed and reported on machine breakdowns.
• Troubling shooting when machine breakdowns, e.g. transferring labour to run other machine or where they can be utilized.
• Ordering of materials from stores, so that production runs smoothly.
• Making out defect reports on defected products.
• Made sure training and assessments are done on a quarterly basis.
• On closing of shift we had to report via e-mail to our senior and on coming Supervisor on shift activities and problems experienced.
• E.g. of a few machines I worked with: CCV’s * 2, VCV, Drum Twister * 2, Taping machines and 150mm Extruders.
• I worked on Insulation, Laying Up, Bedding, Armouring, Sheathing and Overhauling up to final test.
• I also worked with Mains, Bell, ABC, Super tension (HV), Medium Voltage, Paper and Split Concentric cables.

• Previous Duties:
• Worked in Planning as a Statistical control clerk, collection and analyzing production figures on a daily basis.
• Updating orders on various processes the orders are in the production line. (1990 to 1993)
• I was promoted to Accessories and Rubber Planner, (1993 to 1995). Plan the flow of work on manufacturing of SF6 bushes, SVL boxes, Link boxes and Stress cones. Planned the making of rubber sheets for rubber cables.
• Drew up Master ticket with all technical information and materials, required for the manufacturing process.
• Liaised with machine shop Section Leader on availability of machines in order to planning products that needed machining.
• Liaised with Buying and Stores on availability of materials before the manufacturing process begins.
• I was then transferred to drum manufacturing plant as a Section Leader (1995 to 1997).
• I was then transferred to CCV and VCV (XLPE) production lines and then to PVC lines as a Section Leader.
