• To tackle all the emergencies occurring regarding electrical system during the shift.
• To co-ordinate all maintenance activities for plant electrical equipments.

• Synchronizing of Generators.
• Maximum Demand control in case of generator tripping.
• Synchronizing with grid after islanding.
• Controlling parameters like voltage and frequency in case of islanding.
• Trouble shooting related to protection circuits and relays.
• Maintaining load shedding system.
• Taking 220KV Line Shutdown and restoring them.
• Taking shut down on Bus/Transformer for carrying out shut down activity in 220 KV
Switch yard.
• Co-ordination with GETCO Haldarva in case of line tripping or islanding or any other
transmission line related issues.
• Communication with SLDC in case of Power export/Power wheeling/Short term Open
Access.
• Exposure to SAP-PM & MM
• Management of Non supervisory Manpower.
• Condition monitoring of all the equipments of CPP and IOP.
• Condition monitoring and maintaining fire alarm system.
• Taking safe changeovers for any maintenance activity in HT/LT panels.
• Training to non supervisory Manpower and new joinees.
• Implementation of modifications (MOC) in HT/LT panels.
• Investigating the root cause (RCA) in case of failure of equipment.

• Following up of safety procedures and ensuring the same is followed by subordinates also.
• Providing temporary connections as per RIL Standards and thereby avoiding the possibility of Electrical fire.
• Condition monitoring of substations and substation equipments such as HT/LT
Panels, battery banks, battery chargers, UPS etc.
• Preparing and posting of daily electrical power consumption report.
• Operation and maintenance of DG Set.
• KEY AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE:
• Hands on experience of operation and maintenance of various HT/LT equipments.
• Familiar with Layout, Control schemes & interlocks of 220KV Switch yard (ABB Make)
• Familiar with control schemes of 33KV Gas Insulated Switchgear (ABB-Calor Make)
• Detail knowledge of control schemes of PCC, MCC, HT and LT Switchgear (L&T,
BHEL, VOLTAS, SIEMENS, GEC-ALSTOM make)
• Familiar with UPS, Battery chargers, PDB, LDB, EOT crane, DG sets etc.
• Familiar with the Protection Schemes of Grid incomer, Bus bar, Generator,
Transformer, HT/LT Motors etc
• Carrying out Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance of GTG/STG, Transformers,
HT & LT control panels, HT & LT motors, Motor Operated Valves, Circuit Breakers,
Isolators, Battery banks etc
• Trouble shooting and fault analysis.
• Familiar with Synchronizing of Generators.
• Hard wired as well as PLC Based Load shedding scheme and island mode operation.
• Familiar with applicable Electrical codes and standards
• Familiar with SCAP (Synchronizing Control & Annunciation Panel)
• Familiar with various types of Fire Detectors (PSD & ISD) and Fire detection Panels
(Tata Honeywell, DGFAP make)
