• Debating: Canadian style Parliamentary debating; students practice debating every week; by end of semester most students are equal in calibre to the World national debating championships

• Academic Writing: attempted a new genre in letter writing: Writing for Critical Purposes
• - audience and topic chosen by students, such as working conditions for international corporations,
• other courses included English for Academic Purposes, Current Events, other writing courses covering a number of genres and conversation and presentation classes
