Executive Manager
• Manage all aspects of operations of the company comprising of 2 divisions.
• Agent of several US and European manufacturers of medical equipment responsible for business development in Egypt.
• Management of a factory manufacturing medical disposables including procurement, imports, production planning, marketing and sales.
Highlights:
• Successfully introduced and established products from US and European manufacturers overcoming stiff competition from less expensive offerings from suppliers in China, Poland and India.
• Identified business opportunities and achieved first time sales of several products with successful deliveries to client hospitals.
Projects
• Proposed a project for setting up a new production line with the objective of reducing costs, improving quality and improving export sales. Conducted feasibility study, presented and won management approval, sourced machines and materials negotiating competitive prices and terms with suppliers and followed up installation, commissioning and start-up of the line.
• Currently working on a second project - following up for required approvals of various Egyptian ministries and negotiating with parties inside and outside Egypt.
Key Responsibilities:
Management of the Medical Disposables Factory :
• Prepare weekly production plans based on sales forecasts, order book position and customer requirements to meet business objectives.
• Manage import of raw materials, monitoring and ensuring on time customs clearance for optimum availability of inputs for uninterrupted production operations assuring achievement of delivery schedules and customer satisfaction.
• Monitor and calculate quantity of produced materials ensuring match with imported raw materials to avoid losses in duty rebates.
• Supervise the team of engineers and technicians ensuring operations as per approved standard operating procedures and provide required support to build skills and resolve problems.
• Identify training needs to meet high standards of production and provide required training to build team of highly skilled and competent workers.
• Work closely with the General Manager in planning upgrades to the factory facilities for meeting current international product quality requirements.
• Manage the export department including liaising with embassies in various countries, gathering market intelligence including trade and healthcare sectors to identify and focus on target hospitals for accelerated export of products.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales and Marketing
• Lead a team of sales and marketing professionals and manage business development and sales of imported medical equipment as well as in-house produced medical disposables.
• Supervise the technical department and prepare technical dossiers for participation in tenders of various entities including Ministry of Health & Population, International Aid Agencies, public sector hospitals and private sector hospitals.
• Support sales representatives in dealing with tenders for turnkey supply and installation of medical equipment at hospitals covering bidding, negotiation, contract winning, installation and aftersales service to achieve customer satisfaction and gain repeat business.
• Conduct regular market research to identify new opportunities and work with overseas vendors to grow business by launching new products as per market expectations.
