Initiates and performs range of nursing measures based on patient needs for physical and mental comfort, hygiene, nutrition and hydration, elimination and skin integrity. Documenting all as well as patient reaction to intervention.
Provides nursing care, administers medications and drugs as per policy, and delivers patient family education according to accepted Nursing standards, approved competencies, nursing policies and procedures.
Prepares and explains procedures to patient; assembles required equipment and instruments and assist physicians with a variety of clinical procedures.
Recognizes emergency situations and responds swiftly to noticeable changes in a patients condition by initiating appropriate nursing measures that may include BCLS, mobilizing emergency response protocols and notifies physician.
Acts as a part of the professional team seeking assistance when needed, willingly helping out others, guiding new staff, communicating effectively with physicians and allied health professionals, and seeks to maintain a good interpersonal relations.
Assist in sustaining a safe patient and working environment by being alert to safety issues and reports appropriately any hazards, unusual incidents or unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor or head of the department as per policy.
Utilizes equipment, supplies and consumables in a cost-effective, way and reports malfunction, loss or misuse as per policy.
When in a team leader position, adapts to changing work situations by adjusting staff assignment and/or seeking assistance through the next person in charge.
Responsible for own professional development through educational oppurtunities, reading material, workshops, and remain current on Nursing standards.

Identifies nursing needs of the patients.

Assist patient in moving, maintaining proper body alignment and utilizing good body mechanics.
Takes and records Vital signs.
Observes Medical and Surgical Sepsis
Observes signs and symptoms, institute remedial action.
Relays and update physicians on the latest laboratories and diagnostics results.
Acts as a liaison between patient’s and hospital personnel.
Prepares patients and assist physicians with diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.
Assist the physician in examining the patient.
Performs Irrigation, catheterization and enemas as ordered.
Administers and charts medications and patients reaction to needs.
Conducts health teaching to patients and significant others.

Knows and applies the standards of patient care established for hospitals.
Demonstrate an awareness of the total nursing needs of the patient and ensures that they are met. Plans with the nursing team to meet these patient needs.
Participates in the administration of nursing service by directing, supervising and assisting the non-professional personnel in giving patient care.
Participates in institutes, workshops and research programs for improvement of patient care and administration.
Promotes a climate conducive to learning for both personnel and students.
Attends change - of - shift report.
Visits all patients on team, makes adjustment of assignment according to the employee’s abilities and patient needs and gives clarification report.
Administers medications and manages fluid therapy.
